Chamber Wants Water Line Funding
The Warren County Cham
her of Commerce held a dinner
meeting at The Carriage House
on Mondav night and had what
President Bill Fleming called
"the most constructive meeting
since I've been in the
Chamber." A lengthy business
meeting with many accomplish
ments prompted his statement.
It was decided to distribute a
monthl\ -wtsletter to mem
bers wl ,.i would feature a
questionnaire to get input from
members.
New decals or emblems for
the Warren County Chamber
were determined to be needed.
The chamber was previously
the Warrenton Chamber of
Commerce.
A special guest of the
meeting was Steve Norwood,
representative of the Region K
i ..uncil of Governments and
director of aging, who" present
ed a concept to the merchants
that would allow discounts to
senior citizens. After hearing
the details of the concept, the
chamber endorsed the idea and
noted that no obligations were
required on the part of
merchants.
The group decided to send a
letter to the United States
Department of Commerce
expressing its concern over the
water line want refusal and
expressing desire for quick
approval of the line.
During the treasurer's report
it was noted that the Chamber
enjoyed the best financial
situation ever and that 50
members had already paid dues
in 1977.
President Fleming said that
he was "enthusiastic over the
willingness of members present
to work." He added, "We may
be accused of doing something
wrong, but we'll not be accused
of doing nothing."
TbroTiller
Toro gives you a choice of tillers
and equipment to do any tilling job. . ,
And the cost will lie less than you
think. What you harvest in your
garden can pay for a good part of
your investment. Also, since tillers
are not used every week like lawn
mowers, many neighbors buy a Toro
tiller as a group and rotate the use
of the machine.
