Promoters of the event report that one application for the Kerr Lake fishing festival has been received from an angler in North Hollywood, Calif. If he appears, the Hollywood fisherman will easily eclipse last year's distance mark set by three fishermen from Lincoln, Neb. Norlina Loses Louisburg scored four runs in the fifth inning to win a 5-4 conference game over Norlina in IiOuisburg Thursday after noon. Bob Currie hit a triple for Norlina and Lee Stultz, the losing pitcher hit 2-3. Monday the Blue Waves host Franklinton at 4 p. m. Lady Blue Waves Lose The Lady Blue Waves lost a softball game to Louisburg 13 10 in a conference home game Thursday afternoon. Some 165 applications had been received as of Monday, and sponsors hope to better last year's entry figure which hovered around 500. Bass fishermen will be trying to land the largest fish in the Kerr Lake tournament, as opposed to the most total poundage which was the basis for awarding prize money in the recently held bass competition on Lake Gaston. Top prize money of $1,000 will be offered for the largest bass taken during the Hender son Jaycee's tournament. Last year Bert Weston of Garner took first place with a bass which tipped the scales at just over 10 pounds. Warrenton Wins Fielding errors in the opening inning of play put Bunn ahead of John Graham 4-0, but the Yellow Jackets right handed pitching of Ron ald Green held the Bulldogs scoreless for the remainder of the game and Warrenton made a 6-4 comeback victory over Bunn in a conference game seen here Thursday afternoon.
