Vincent Allen has returned after undergoing plastic sur gery at, Durham County General Hospital. Master Reggie West of Williamsburg. Va.. was the guest of his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Loyd, and other relatives recently. Mrs. Buddy Loyd was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Henry West and family for several weeks. Misses Vickie and Wendy Loyd. Mrs. Phillis Harmon and children were overnight guests of the West family on Friday and Mrs. Loyd returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Howard, Beth and Jeff and Roselourdes Majia visited relatives in Arlington. V'a.. during the weekend and toured Washing ton, D. C. and other sites. Mrs. Mildred Shearin and Mrs. Lonnie Cox of Warrenton and Calvin Motley of Lynch burg, Va., visited Mr and Mrs. Larry King in Richmond, Va., over the weekend. Va.. for several days last week. Approaching Marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Williams and Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Martin, Jr.. invited their friends and relatives to the wedding of their children, Sheila Lynn Williams to David Michael Martin on Sunday, April 17, at 3 p. m. at the Macon Methodist Church. Miss Ray is a 1975 graduate of Peace College in Raleigh and will receive a B. A. degree in Piano Pedogogy in May from East Carolina University where she is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Sigma Alpha Tota music fraternity. Mr. Allen is a 1974 graduate of East Carolina University where he was a member of Pi Lambda Phi social fraternity. He received a B. S. degree in Geology and is employed by Bertie County as a soil scientist. The wedding will take place at 4 p. m. Sunday, June 12, at the First Presbytrian Church in Smithfield. Library Is Transformed Into Medieval Courtroom By EDWINA ROOKER The John Graham library w.as transformed into a medieval courtroom Wednes day of last week when students from Mr. Robert Marlin's World History class presented an Anglo-Saxon courtroom drama. The purpose of the play, written by student Ricky O'Neal, was to give an example of a petit or trial jury tria which includes the following principles of the Anglo-Saxor judicial system: the right o] trial by jury, the right of tria by one's peers and the theory ol innocence until guilt is proven In the play the defendant Larry Alston, accused o! stealing a watermelon, was found guilty by a jury of his peers. Dressed appropriately ir medieval costumes were the following participants: Judge Leroy Bullock, Sheriff Rick} Lynch, Bailiff Joe Swenson Defense Attorney Elaine Tun stall, and Prosecuting Attorney T. T. Clayton. Witnesses included Philli] Davis, Tony Fields, Juanit Hawkins. Joseph Reid, Joyc Taylor, Milo Alston, Elro; Bullock, Wendy Kearney am Annette Taylor; Connie Valer tine was the jury foreman. Among the special guests a the play was Dr. Betty Levj associate professor of educatio at East Carolina University. Easter Services All Saints Ail Saints Episcopal Church will keep Easter at 8 o'clock this Sunday morning. The Vicar, the Rev. Robert W. Orvis, will preside at the Holy Communion service. Emmanuel The Easter Day service at Emmanuel Episcopal Church is set for 11 o'clock this Sunday morning. Special music and familiar hymns will be used in the Holy Communion with the Rector, the Rev. Robert W. Orvis, as celebrant. Mrs. Samuel H. Massey, Jr., organist, will play Knapp's, "Open the Gates of the Temple" as a prelude, and Grieg's, 'Triumphal March," as post lude. Mrs. Charles W. Davis, choir director, will sing a soprano solo. The choir and congregation will join in singing seasonal hymns and carols. Maundy Thursday will be observed with an evening Holy Communion at 7:30 p. m. Good Friday, April 8, will feature a service of prayer and medita tion from 2 to 3 o'clock. Sulphur Springs Sulphur Springs Baptist Church will change the time of services for April 10. Morning worship will be at 9 a. m. followed by Sunday school at 10 a. m. This change will only be for Easter Sunday. Revival services will begin April 17 with the morning service and continue through Friday night, April 22. The public is invited to attend.
