News & Society Items Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Andrews of Norfolk, Va., en route home from vacationing in Lafayette and New Orleans, La., are visiting Mrs. John Boyd Fleming, her sister, and family and Mrs. Lelia Hight Vaughan, her mother, a patient at Warren General Hospital. Visiting Mrs. J. T. Vaughan at Warren General Hospital over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Vaughan, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Titus Vaughan of Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Breedlove of Middleburg and Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Aycock of Glberon. Mrs. J. A. Gutierrez and daughter, Maria, of Winston-Salem visited her mother, Mrs. A. C. Powell, last weekend. A July 24 wedding is planned at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Miss Harmon Joins Mr. Todd In Wedding WRAL T.V. Rose Garden was the setting for the wedding of Miss Juanita Gayle Harmon and Michael Jerry Todd of Raleigh at eleven o'clock on April 23. The Rev. Dudley Neal of Warrenton performed the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, R. D. Harmon, the bride wore a gown of white chiffon fashioned with a scoop neckline edged in Venise lace. The chiffon flounce formed a cape effect over the fitted bodice. The waist was outlined with matching lace and flounce which flowed softly into a full A-line skirt. Mrs. Janet Harris of Macon, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a peach dress with a carnation corsage. Joseph Raymond Todd of Windsor was best man. Mr. Todd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Raymond Todd of Windsor. He graduated from Chowan College and attended N. C. State University in Raleigh. After a honeymoon trip to Acapulco, the couple will reside at Fairway Apartments in Raleigh. Mrs. Shearin Honored On Birthday Mrs. Mamie Shearin, who now makes her home in Norfolk, Va., with Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Myrick, was entertained Sunday by her children in the Hollister clubhouse in honor of her 91st birthday. Her birthday will be on June 17. Wayne Myrick, her grandson, returned thanks before the pig-picking dinner was served. Mrs. Bessie Gupton of Program Planned There will be a musical program on May 14 at 6 p. m. at Stephen Baptist Church in Inez. Mrs. Christene Williams will be the mistress of ceremonies. Many fine groups will attend. The public is invited to attend. Hollister, a friend of Mrs. Shearin's and the same age, was a guest. Gifts were opened and displayed. Approximately 135 attended.
