and Wade Kent Russell
pledged their vows in a
double ring ceremony on
Saturday, May 7, at four
o'clock in the afternoon in
Fairmont United Methodist
Church in Raleigh The
Reverend Rufus H. Stark,
II, pastor, officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus
Speed Moseley of Goldsboro,
and the granddaughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Frederick Moseley
of Warrenton. Mr. and Mrs.
Wade H. Russell of Albemarle
are parents of the
groom.
A program of wedding
music was presented by
Mrs. William Baitinger,
organist. Charles Moseley,
guitarist, brother of the
bride, sang and played
"Wedding Song" (There Is
Love) by Paul Stookey.
The bride was escorted to
the altar and given in
marriage by her father. She
wore a gown of white silk
quiana with a Victorian
neckline and yoke of
Brussels and Venise lace,
embroidered with seed
pearls. The long fitted
sleeves carried the same
lace and pearls motif,
tapering into a point over
the hands. She wore a
fingertip veil of silk illusion
attached to a Juliet cap of
lace and pearls. Her
bouquet was of gardenias
and stephanotis.
Miss Patricia Ann Baggott
of Rockledge, Fla.,
cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Miss Mary Ann
Russell of Charlotte, sister
of the groom, and Mrs.
Charles Moseley of Fremont,

The groom is a graduate
of Albemarle High School
and North Carolina State
University. He is employed
as an engineer with Carolina
Power and Light Company.
After a wedding trip to
Florida, the couple will
reside at 3256 Lewis Farm
Road in Raleigh.
Reception
Following the ceremony,
Mr. and Mrs. Alpheus S.
Moseley entertained at a
reception in the church
fellowship hall. Guests were
greeted by Dr. and Mrs.
Robert E. Cook and directed
to the fellowship hall.
Ms. Susan Hunt presided
at the guest register.
Friends of the couple in
the Cook Sunday School
Class of the church, served
as hostesses in the reception
area.

Is Given Juniors
The Warrenton Junior
Woman's Club held its
meeting last Thursday evening
at 8 p. m. in the
mini-room of the First
Citizens Bank.
Mrs. Elaine Coleman,
president, called the meeting
to order and presided
over the business session.
Following the pledge of
allegiance, the devotional
was given by Mrs. Madge
Reid.
Mrs. Linda Carter, chairman
of the Home Life
Department, introduced the
guest speaker, the Rev.
Dennis Levin, pastor of the
Warren Circuit charge. He
gave an informative and
educational program on
drug abuse. He brought a
display of drugs for the club
to view.
Following the business
session, the meeting closed
with the repeating of the
club collect.
Refreshments were served
by the hostesses, Linda
Carter, Eleanor Fuller and
Gloria Edmonds.
Mrs. Butler To
Attend Conference
Mrs. R. B. Butler of
Warrenton will be serving
as an alternate delegate to
the first White House
Conference on Handicapped
Individuals in Washington,
D. C., May 23-27.
The meeting represents
the first attempt by the
Federal Government to
probe the needs of handicapped
individuals throughout
the United States.
Mrs. Butler is president of
the North Carolina Easter
Seal Society for Crippled
Children and Adults.

Enters Chapter
Miss Lou Ann Coleman, a
senior at East Carolina
University, has been initiated
into the ECU chapter of
Phi Kappa Phi honor
society.
Phi Kappa Phi is a
national honor society with
173 chapters throughout the
U. S., the Philippines and
Puerto Rica, and is open to
persons who have demonstrated
academic excellence
in all fields of study.
She is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Coleman
of Rt. 3, Warrenton.

American Legion Auxiliary
on Thursday night.

Michael Macon
Is WF Candidate
Michael W. Macon of
Norlina has completed the
requirements for graduation
from Southeastern
Baptist Theological Seminary.
He will be awarded the
Master of Divinity degree at
the Seminary commencement
on May 14.
Michael, the grandson of
Mrs. Annie Macon who lives
on Rogers Street in Norlina,
is a graduate of Norlina
High School and Mars Hill
College.
The Rev. Mr. Macon is the
pastor of Gardner's Baptist
Church in Macon.
He is married to the
former Arlene Westbrook of
Charlotte.

would be on May 27 and 2S.
The members unanimously
voted to send a letter to
our Congressmen requesting
that the United States
keep the Panama Canal.
Each member was also
asked to send a letter.
Mrs. Scott Gardner, president,
was in charge of stunt
night. After much fun, a
social hour was held.
