M.CLAYTON ROXBORO—Dr. Dewey Monroe Clayton, III, 54, of Roxboro died Sunday night at his residence on Kappa Drive after a possible drowning or coronary attack while swimming in his swimming pool. He was a native of Person County. He was a graduate of Mary Potter High School in Oxford. He was a 1947 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., in 1956. Clayton served a rotating internship for one year at Community General Hospital in Reading, Pa. In 1957, he established a medical practice in Roxboro. Subsequently, he joinedJ th* medical staff at Person Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Kappa Alphi Psi, the Old North State Medical Society, the National Medical Association, the board of trustees of Johnson C. Smith University, the Person County Medical Society, the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Practice. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
