Miss Louise Jones of Durham was here for the funeral of Robert Hunter of Norfolk, Va., on Thursday and was the guest of Mrs. Rufus S. Jones. Roger Limer hais returned from the South Hill Community Hospital where he was a patient. Mrs. Claude Bowers has returned trom a trip to Hartford, Conn. Mrs. J. B. Boyce has returned from a visit to Raleigh and was accompanied home by her daughter, Mrs. Sam Arrington. Jay Patel, a student at U.N.C. at Chapel, spent the weekend with his parents, Dr and Mrs. K. Young Women Host Supper The Baptist Young Women of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church hosted a covered dish supper for their "sweethearts" on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Afton-Elberon Clubhouse. The sweethearts are a special group of 45 ladies, all in one neighborhood who have all lost their husbands. A short devotion was given by the Rev. Tommy Crosswhite, followed by a delicious meal and the presentation of the "Sweetheart Directory," which included all 45 names, addresses, telephone numbers and birthdays. Then the group entertained at bingo. The B.Y.W. present were Scarlett Abbott, Mary Lou Brown, Gloria Edmonds, Renee Crosswhite, Pam Kinton, Bonnie Munn, Margaret Pernell and Sara Wright. The Rev. Luther G. Brown officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Theresa Hymon and the late James E. Hymon of Rt. 2, Warrenton. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jones of Rt. 3, Warrenton, are parents of the groom. Given in marriage by ner brother, John Hymon of Baltimore, Md., the bride wore a formal gown of blue satin and carried a bouquet of white carnations with blue streamers. Miss Patricia Hymon of Washington, D. C., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a formal gown of royal blue satin and carried a bouquet of matching carnations. After a wedding trip to Raleigh, the couple will reside in Richmond, Va. Mrs. Jones is employed at Americal Corporation in Henderson. Her husband is employed at Safe-Way Warehouse in Richmond, Va. Reception Immediately following the ceremony, the mother of the bride entertained at a reception at the school. Waitresses helping in the reception were co-workers and friends of the bride from Americal Punch was poured by Edward Jones of New Jersey. Shower A miscellaneous shower honored Miss Carolyn Hymon on Sept. 3. Hostesses were Miss Betty Small, Miss Brenda Davis. Mrs. Hannah Bullock and Miss Rose Judkins. Surprise Shower A surprise bridal shower was held in honor of Carolyn Hymon hosted by co-workers at Americal. She received a four-slice toaster and a crock pot from the hostesses. with meat sauce, tossed salad with dressing, fruit cup, roll, cookie, chocolate milk. Macon Woman's Club Has Initial Meeting The Macon Woman's Club held the first meeting of the year Monday night with a covered dish supper at the Macon United Methodist Church. Prospective new members were guests of the club. Special guests were the Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Morrow. Mrs. Bill Reid, president, presided over the meeting. Mrs. G. W. King, NCFWC District 14 President, spoke briefly on membership in a federated woman's club. After the business meeting the meeting was adjourned by reading thje club collect.
