On Thursday, Mrs. Thomas Holt joined several friends from Littleton for a theatre trip to New York City. Dr and Mrs. Ray Selby and several women of the Warrenton Episcopal Church attended a convocation in Enfield on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ryall Woodall recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Davant and children in Charlotte. They spent last weekend in Goldsboro with Dr. and Mrs. Dave Tayloe, Jr., and children. Mrs. Robert Elkins of Charleston, West Va., has returned to her home after visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Rooker. W. P. Helen Holt Joins Warren Record Helen Holt, a Warrenton native, this week joined the staff of The Warren Record as its news editor. She returns to Warrenton and to this office after more than a year's stay in Nash and Halifax counties, where she was a staff writer for The Evening Telegram in Rocky Mount and Halifax County This Week newspaper in Enfield. In her new post, Holt will be responsible for news coverage throughout W&rren and adjacent counties and will direct news gathering of this paper, of this paper. She was employed by the Record temporarily last summer after she returned from a six-month tenure at the University of Reading, Reading, England. Prior to her stay in England, Holt worked for one year at The Eden News in Eden. She was employed the year previous as technical editor for Western Electric Company in Winston-Salem.
