Valentine Is
Southwest
State Player
Playing on the Southwest
State University team in
Marshall, Minn., is George
Valentine, a former Norlina
High School player. Valentine
transferred to Southwest
from Louisburg Junior
College.
As a player on the University

to his coach, Dale
Honeck.
Valentine came off the
bench midway through the
second period against Gustavus
Adolphus College and
dropped in six points, hitting
three of three shots from the
field and collecting four
rebounds.
"George had an excellent
game of the bench," said
Honeck. "That's the kind of
support we are going to need
the rest of the season."
Also playing on the
Southwest team is Dexter
Cooley of Bunn, another
former Tar River Conference
player.
The team is now preparing
to make its bid in the St.
John's Invitational Basketball
