Many of the area churches have come to visit and have brought refreshments and gifts for the residents. They really look forward to these visits. The Holy Temple Mission ary Circle came on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 5:30 p. m. and gave one of the nicest programs we've had so far this year. Each and every resident was given fruit, candy and a small gift. After refreshments the whole group gathered around the piano and sang Christmas carols. We ap preciate, very much, the interest that is being shown the residents here. Once again movies were shown on Wednesday night by James Page. This is something else that is eager ly awaited each week. Pop corn and a beverage were served. We would like to have a pastor of one of the local churches, or even a layman come out and teach a Sunday School lesson on Sunday. We know schedules are hectic on Sunday morning so an afternoon at 1 or 1:30 would be fine. If interested, just give us a call. Annual Supper Is Held LITTLETON-The Junior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of Enterprise Baptist Church held its annual Christmas supper at the Fairfax Restaurant in Roa noke Rapids recently. Rev. and Mrs. Jerry H. Harper. Sr., and the husbands of members were guests. Mrs E C. Reid, Jr., president, welcomed guests, Mrs Floyd Dillard, teacher, gave a devotional. The Rev. Harper offered thanks for the meal. Attending were the Rev. and Mrs. Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Dillard, Mr. and Mrs. Reid. Mr and Mrs. Robert Walker, Mr. and Mrs. M. Douglas Reid, Mrs. Bernice I The Country Store Will Be Open Christmas Day 12 Til 6 Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Alvis P. Fleming, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Snell, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Reid, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Newsom, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Gaither and Mr. and Mrs. Horace B. Newsom. U. S. Factories make 2•■« billion light bulbs annually. Chinese Treat The sixth graders at Mariam Boyd School were served a Chinese lunch on Thursday as one activity planned by- Miss R. C. Gilliam and her students in their study of China. On the menu was chicken chow mein, rice, noodles, egg rolls, fortune cookies, and hot tea. Mrs. Ella Cook, cafeteria manager, had given a short lecture on how the meal was to be prepared and its nutritional value. The meal was enjoyed by all but Leon Williams described it best with a poem he was inspired to write after lunch: "That chicken chow mein is very good looking, but let me tell you - that was very good cooking." Card Of Thanks We take this opportunity to thank the Warrenton Lions Club, the ladies auxiliary of the Warrenton Rural Fire Dept., IGA, the Warrenton Baptist Church and the staff of Warren General Hospital, along with our many friends for all the kind deeds and thoughts at this time while A1 is in the hospital.
