Stallings entertained the Brotherhood at the Norlina Baptist Church on Thurs riav Dp<- IS Methodist Activities The Young Adult Class of the Norlina United Metho dist Church will have their annual Christmas party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Traylor on Thursday night, Dec. 22. Tom Traylor will be host for the festivities which will begin at 6:30 p. m. The Share Group will also meet Thursday at 7:30 p. m. with the Fred Newsoms. On Friday, Dec. 23, the United Methodist Youth will begin Christmas Caroling at 7 p m. The chancel choir will hold rehearsal V^dnesday, Dec. 28, at 7:45 at" the church. The Rev. Sunday School will not be held in order to present the special service at an earlier time. (Staff Photo) Magazine Depicts Local Ingenuity An original idea oi Mrs Chris Holtzman, adult vol unteer 4-H leader of the Wise-Paschall 4-H Club, has appeared in print through the pages of the National 4-H News magazine. Mrs. Holtzman. frequent ly recognized for her outstanding service in vari ous civic capacities, has likewise been recognized often in 4-H circles. When she received her 25-year 4-H service pin in 1975, it marked the fifth pin she had received from the Warren County organiza tion. First had come the Silver Clover, a five-year service pin. Next, the Gold Clover for 10 years of leadership; then the Pearl Clover for 15 years, the Diamond Clover for 20 years and lastly the Emerald Clover for 25 years. "It seemed too much to put all five individual pins on my coat or dress when wearing my pins to special meetings," Mrs. Holtzman recalls. "So, after further thought, this design came to mind." With this design, Mrs. Holtzman proceeded to her jewelers. A. C. Fair of Warrenton, who set the five clover pins on a round gold piece. Approximately 300 parents and patrons attended the event. John Davis, band instruc tor, directed the Christmas choir, made up of students from grades 4-8. Their selections included "Deck the Halls," "God Tell It On The Mountain," "O, Come All Ye Faithful," "Oh Christmas Tree," and "Sil ent Night." Also "Carol of the Bells," "Joy to the World," "What Child Is This?" and "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem." The caro's were performed between acts of the drama presentations The fourth grade present ed "Christmas Throughout the World," including cus toms from England. Hoi land, Norway, Sweden, and Russia. "The Shepherd Who Couldn't See the Light" was also presented by fourth graders. The fifth graders drama tized "Christmas in Central and South America." "Christmas in Asia" was presented by the sixth graders. Customs in Japan. Iran and Iraq were included in the skits. Seventh and eighth grad ers dramatized "Christmas Spirit." A speech chorus, made up of fourth, fifth and sixth graders, recited "The Night Before Christmas." Prior to the Christmas program the regular busi ness session of the Parent - Teacher Association was held W. S. Fuller offered greetings. The invocation was given by Lisa Martin and Connie Fogg. Richard Greene, PTA president, presided. Moseley To Head W-P Ruritans Herbert Moseley was installed president of the Wise-Paschall Huritan Club at the monthly meeting held Dec. 12 W 1) Little of the Norlina Huritan Club was a guest and installed the officers Others installed were Marvin Epps. vice-presi dent ; VV. The club approved motions to pay all club bills, to change the meeting night to the second Monday night instead of the third Monday night of each month, to name William "Skeeter" Paschall a honorary mem ber of the club and to name r J W. Wilson of Warrenton a new member to the club The club also decided to send a gift certificate to senior citizens in the Wise Paschall district for Christ mas. In a board of directors meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 14, a motion to give five dollar gift certificates was passed as was a motion to give 5() Christmas baskets to senior citizens in the district. A meeting was scheduled for Dec. 18 to prepare the baskets. RETURNS HOME Mrs. J. R.
