Alumni Chapter
Has Gathering
The Vance, Granville,
Warren Hampton Alumni
Chapter held its December
meeting and annual Christ
mas party in the home of
Mrs. Jessie Walton. The
home sparkled with beauti
ful Christmas decorations.
A table of hors d'oeuvres
and drinks were available
as guests arrived.
Members brought gifts
for the children of the
Warren County Child De
velopment Center. The
alumni was grateful to
Carolina Sportswear for
T-shirts given them for the
children's spring Special
Olympics Day.
Mrs. Annie Mae Alston
led in devotions. The group
enjoyed singing Christmas
carols.
C. V. Knight, president,
presided over the business
session. Plans were made
for the regional meeting in
March.
After the business meet
ing, Mrs. Walton, assisted
by Mrs. Ethel Bullock,
served a delicious Christ
man dinner, topped off
with jewel cake and egg
nog.
In memory of Mrs.
Mabie Wood, Mrs. Wal
ton's deceased sister, Mrs.
Walton passed out tokens
that were made or treasur
ed by her sister to
members of the alumni.
She said her sister loved a
party and several of the
gifts Mrs. Wood had
wrapped and labeled be
fore her death.
The meeting closed with
the joining of hands and
singing the school alma
mater.

The American alligator's only

their longest and weigh about SO
pounds.
