Legion Auxiliary To Meet
The American Legion Auxiliary will meet in the home
of Mrs. Marie Andrews at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 3,
with Mrs. Anna Fuller as co-hostess.
Yard And Bake Sale Planned
The Churchill-Five Forks Volunteer Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary is having a yard sale and bake sale
across from the IGA in Warrantor on Saturday, June S,
from 8:30 a.m. until.
Men's Day Is Scheduled
The Annual Men's Day will be observed at Cooks
Chapel Baptist Church in Warren Plains on Sunday.
Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and the regular
service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Pastor W. L. Barnes will
deliver the sermon, and music will be presented by the
Zion Cross Chorus. The public is cordially invited to
attend.
Young Adults To Gather
All young adults, men and women of Warrenton Baptist
Church on Bragg Street are asked to meet at the church
on Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m.
Eagles Club Plans Meeting
The Warren County High School Eagles Booster Club
will have its regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 7,
at 8 p.m. in the school library.
Lay Minister To Speak
Thomas Alston of Roanoke Rapids, a lay minister,
will speax Sunday morning, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Reedy
Creek Baptist Church. The public is invited.
Fire Auxiliary To Gather
The Warrenton Rural Fire Department "Blazetts" will
meet in the home of Mrs. Juanita Wood on Tuesday, June
8, at 8 pm All members are urged to attend.
Benefit Program Scheduled
There will be a benefit program at First St. Baptist
Church in Macon on Saturday, June 5, at 6 p.m. for Lena
Johnson and Peter Ross. The event is sponsored by
Joseph L. Brown, with the Rev. Laurence Harrison
serving as emcee. The Spring Green Choir, Plummer
Harris, Safeway Travelers, Alpheus Perry, John
, Steverson, and Carolina Stars will be on hand.
Final Workshop Is Planned
The Title I ESEA District Advisory Council will have
its last parental involvement workshop at 7 p. m. on
Wednesday, June 9, in the library at Hawkins
Elementary School. Mrs. Elizabeth Frasier, a former
teacher and principal, will lead a make-and-take workshop
for parents to use with their children while they are
home this summer. All parents and other interested
persons are invited to attend.
Stew Sale Is Planned Here
The Hebron United Methodist Church will hold a stew
sale on Friday, June 4, at the Warrenton Rural Firehouse.
The stew, cooked by Johnny Ross and selling for $3
per quart, will be ready by noon.
