Selby, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Warrenton of which Miss Ellington was a member. She died Thursday at Warren General Hospi tal following a lengthy illness. The Hanghti»r of the late William C. and Cornelia Fleming El lington, she operated a millinery shop here for many years. A number of nieces and nephews survive. CHARLIE T. KNOTT OXFORD - Funeral services for Charlie Thomas "Nat" Knott, 72 of 204 Prospect Avenue, Oxford, were conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday from Enon Baptist Church by the Rev. Preston Creech. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Knott died Thurs day at Granville Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired federal tobacco grader, a member of Enon Baptist Church and a member of the Granville County Wild life Club. He is survived by his widow, Margaret W. Knott; two daughters, Kathleen P. Paschall of Norlina and Virginia P. Newton of Oxford; two sisters, Evelyn K. Whitehurst of Goldsboro and Ruth K. Parker of Oxford; a half-brother, P. W. Knott of Youngs ville; a half-sister, Joyce Fort of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and one great-grand child. EFFIE D. AYSCUE Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Dickerson Ayscue, 88, were con ducted at 3 p. m. Monday from Thomas Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Vicksboro, of which she was a member, by the Rev. Steve Enloe and the Rev. Everett Eat man. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ayscue died early Sunday in Warren General Hospital after several years of declin ing health. She is survived by four sons, Woodrow Ayscue and Horace Ayscue, both of Henderson and Milton Ayscue and Louis Ayscue, both of Warrenton; four daugh ters, Mrs. Edna Abbott, Mrs. Estelle Ed wards and Mrs. Marie Muniz, all of Henderson, and Mrs. Mattie Rivers of Macon; four half-sis ters, Mrs. Lizzie Ball, Mrs. Jesse Driver, both of Louisburg, Mrs, Rollie Faulkner of Alert and Mrs. Julia Faulkner of Henderson; 31 grand children, 42 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Dwight Ayscue, Micky Ayscue, Tommy Jackson, Curtis Jackson, Thomas Abbott, Larry Rivers, Eddie Robertson and Dennis Robertson. A.J.B. DICKERSON CREEDMOOR - Funeral services for A1 Junius Ben Dickerson, 52, were conducted at 2 p. m. Friday from G. T. Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor by the Rev. Tommy Rob ertson. Burial was in the Granville Memorial Park. Mr. Dickerson, a farmer of Rt. 2, Creed moor, died on the previous afternoon at his home following several months of ill ness. Survivors include his widow, Ann Key Dicker son; a son, Walter Ben Dickerson of Creed moor; a foster son, Wil liam Lunsford of Frank lin ton; a daughter, Julie Ann Raymond of Creed moor; two brothers, Raleigh Dickerson of Clarksville, Va., and Isham Dickerson of Cfeedmoor; six sisters, Winnie Lowery, Lillie Cash and Isabelle Hayes, all of Franklin ton, Ruby Husketh of Durham, Cassie Cash of Louisburg and Susan Ann Moseley of Warren ton. ROBERT RICHARDSON F lineal services for Robert Lee Richardson, 67, were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday from Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Hollister by the Rev. C. H. Whitaker. Burial was in the Bennett Family cemetery. Mr. Richardson died on Tuesday of last week in Maria Parham Hospital following a long illness. He is survived by his widow, Martha Lynch Richardson; five daugh ters, Annie L. Richard son of the home, Veila Solomon, Josephine Lynch and Betty Pulley of Areola and Eva Richardson of Washing ton, D. C.; a son, Osbum Richardson of the home; a sister, Patty Lynch of Philadelphia; a brother, Phil Richard son of Warrenton; a step-sister, Annie Bell Hendricks of Baltimore, Md.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grand child. Bullock, Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Watkins, daugh ter of the late Sidney and Mollie Bullock Townes, was born Jan uary 20, 1919. She died September 19 at her home. She is survived by her husband, James Watkins of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Catherine Jones of Middleburg, Miss Mollie Watkins of Manson and Mrs. Lue Moss, Mrs. Beulah Seward and Miss Edith Watkins, all of Richmond, Va.; three sons, James Watkins, Jr., Lee Andrew Watkins and John Watkins, all of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Watkins of Manson; two brothers, Henry Townes of Richmond, Va., and Johnnie Townes of Pitta burg, Pa. and 13 grand children. ROSA JOHNSON Mrs. Rosa Crosson Johnson, 86, died Friday at her home. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Will C. Tabron, of ficiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, Frank A. Crosson of Brooklyn, N. Y. and David L. Barnes of War renton; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Alston, Mrs. Lizzie Brown and Mrs. Ida Crosson, all of War renton; two brothers, James Crosson, Jr. of Washington, D. C. and Cal H. Crosson of War renton and one grand son. TONY D.WALTON Funeral services for Tony Donnell Walton were held Saturday at 1 p. m. at Coley Springs Baptist Church in Afton by the pastor, the Rev. Luther Brown. Burial was in the church ceme tery. Mr. Walton, son of Washington and Liz Walton, was born in Paterson, N. J. on June 4, 1963. He died Septem ber 10 in Greater Pater son General Hospital in Wayne, N. J. While in high school he excelled in baseball and football and played on several outstanding ^eams. He was a member of Christ Temple Baptist Church in Paterson and was employed for three years as a clerk for Gen singer Motor Co. of Clifton, N.J. Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Andre; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Cora Lee Simms of Warrenton. JAKE NORWOOD, JR. . Funeral services for Jake R. Norwood, Jr., 77, of South Hill will be at 2 p. m. today (Wed nesday) at Tabernacle Methodist Church in Townsville, officiated by the Rev. Earl Hester. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Norwood died Monday at Community Memor ial Hospital in South Hill after a long illness. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Louise M. Norwood of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby N. Ross of near Littleton as its new pastor. The Rev. Mr. Ross, a 1953 graduate of John R. Hawkins High School, attended Nash Tech and the N. C. Justice Acad emy. He is now working toward a degree in theology at Shaw University. He is also pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in White Plains, Va. He is a member of the Warren County Plan ning Board and serves as president of the new Warren County High School PTSA. Employed as a War ren County magistrate, he is married to the former Christine Cle ments of Northampton County. North Warren Class Has 30th Reunion The 1962 graduating class of Warren County Training School (now North Warren), held its first class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 4. The day started at 9:00 a. m. in the school cafeteria with members of the class meeting for a get-reacquainted time. Those attending were served mini-sand wiches, grape and orange juice by the cafeteria personnel. After greetings, there was a brief meeting in which the group or ganized a class reunion committee, and agreed to meet every three years. Charles Coleman, coordinator of their reunion was elect ed president, Vernell Seward was elected sec retary, and the office of treasurer was to be ap pointed later. Everyone then adjourned to the parking lot for more conversation arid picture-taking. At 6:00 p. m. everyone returned to the cafeteria, beautifully decorated in blue and white, the graduating class colors, for dinner and dancing. The program consist ed of music rendered by the Antioch All-Male Chorus of Henderson. Scripture and prayer and words of welcome were given by the principal of North Warren School, the Rev. W. T. Ramey, III. The class history was read by Charles Alexander, one of the class mem bers. There was a short memorial service in which candles were lit for the deceased members of the graduating class, and Marion Alexander Robinson sang "The Lord's Prayer." A delicious dinner consisting of turkey, dressing, whipped potatoes and green peas with apple pie for dessert was served by Mrs. Hawkins and Mrs. Townes and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Those class members attending were: Mervin Steward and wife; Mozelle Robinson Alex ander and husband of New York; John Ker sey, Elaris Robinson and Marion Alexander Robinson of New Jersey; Charles Alex ander and wife; Faulk ner Jones and wife; Phillip Russell and Reginald Paschall of Philadelphia, Pa.; James Perry Thornton and wife of Baltimore, Md.; Emma I^ea Duns ton of Washington, D. C.; Thomas Russell and wife; Willie Russell and wife, Catherine Alex ander Smith and hus band, and Major Clai borne of Richmond, Va.; Rosa Alston Walk er, husband and children of Durham; and Charles Coleman, Lucille Hunter and Vernell Seward of Nor lina and Wise. Former teacher and coach, George C. Knox, was the special guest at tending. An enjoyable time was held by all and everyone left vowing to return again in 1985.
