Funeral services for George Alston, Jr., 43, were conducted at 2:30 p. m , Sunday from Fork Chapel Baptist Church at Inez by the Rev. W. W. Falkner. Burial was in the church cemetery. The son of the late Teaboy Alston and Virginia Alston, he was born on Jan. 7, 1939 in Warren County. He joined Lovely Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He was married to Mrs. Marylene Alston and to this union three children were "born, two sons' George Cleveland and Percell Alston and one daughter, Mary Louise Alston, all of Mount Vernon, N. Y. Also surviving were two sisters, Dorothy Alston and Marie Robinson of the home; a brother, Edward Lee Alston of Brooklyn, N. Y.; two aunts and an uncle; several nieces and nephews; and one grandson, Cleveland Antone Alston of Mount Vernon, N. Y. Pallbearers were to be selected at the funeral and were not named. EDWARD M.DAVIS Funeral services for Edward McCoy Davis, 33, were conducted from Cook's Chapel Baptist Church at Warren Plains on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 1 p. m. by the Rev. Robert Burnette, with the Rev. W. L. Barnes serving as pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Davis, who died on Nov. 3, was born March 18, 1949. He became a member of Cook's Chapel Baptist Church at an early age, and after moving to Baltimore, Md., in 1962 he joined Mount Mariah Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Juanita Davis; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Davis; his father, Ivory Ben Davis; a grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Williams Jones; a sister, Mollie Wilson; five brothers, Montellous Frank, Ivoiy Joe, Aranna and Jerome Davis; 11 aunts, three uncles; six nieces and four nephews. Pallbearers were William A. Boyd, Charlie Woodard, LeBoy Woodard, Frank M. Jones, Eugene Powell and Jerry Hawkins. ROSA DAVIS ROANOKE RAPIDS - Funeral services for Rosa Mae Nowell Davis, 77, of 111 Oakridge Drive, Roanoke Rapids, were conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday from Hockaday Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Maurice Wheat. Burial was in Weldon Cedarwood Cemetery. Mrs. Davis died on Thursday at Duke Medical Center in Durham. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hamill and Mrs. Peggy Reed, both of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, Charles Davis of Littleton and Jack Davis of Raleigh; a brother, Frank Nowell of Roanoke Rapids; a sister, Annie Lou Freeman of Roanoke Rapids; IS grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
