Nursina Center Activities Listed ByGLADYS STANSBURY Resident Reporter A lot has happened at Warren Nursing Center in the past few months and we would like for you folks to know just what the folks here have been up to. There are programs everyday in which residents may participate. They include an exercise group for fitness and fun, a reading group, craft group, men's group, art classes, and bingo. Prayer services are held on Thursday evenings and worship services on Sunday. The Women's Group has been busy making "Weioome" cards for the new residents who this month are Mary Israel, Mollie Jones and George Robertson, all of Warrenton and Claude Hargrove of Roanoke Rapids. Our census as of this week is 89. When we reach full capacity we will have 100. The facility has developed a volunteer program, for which we are glad as volunteers seem to have time to do those special things which mean so much to our residents. We are very proud of them and to them we say, "Thank you." We would also like to thank the many people in our community for their support during the opening months. Some of our residents are hungry, not for food but for visits. If any of you have the time, come out and speak to our lonesome residents. Help them conquer their special "lunger." We will appreciate your visit and a word of good cheer. See if any of our residents can remember when three cantaloupe were peddled for a quarter and ice cream sold for five cents a scoop. Marijuana Users at Risk People who stroke marijuana habitually run the risk of significantly damaging their respiratory tracts, according to researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for the Health Sciences.
