Billy Hugh Bunn spent last week with his family in Zebulon while on leave from Ft. Sill, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. House re turned to their home in' Dunedin, Fla., after visiting Mr. House’s brother, A. R. House, and family in Zebulon, his invalid sister in Lexington, and an invalid cousin, Mrs. Nannie House Worley, of Oak City. Mrs. Z. N. Culpepper returned home from Mary Elizabeth Hos pital Friday afternoon. Mrs. Rondall Phillips returned Saturday from Duke Hospital fol lowing a major operation. The Gilbert Davises of Rolesville visited Dr. and Mrs. Ben Thomas Sunday. Charrlotte Scarboro returned Sunday from Rex Hospital follow ing an emergency appendectomy Wednesday. Miss Glenda Eddins of Claxton, Ga., is spending a few days with her grandfather, Mr. C. B. Eddins. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Talton and Miss Lady Talton attended the Creech reunion in Four Oaks Sun day. The Roderick Harrises of Foun tain spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Foster Finch. But on the seventh day he takes time out to don his uniform and be come Cpl. Homer Lambeth of Zebulon’s National Guard unit. He is one of the 89 men in Bat tery A who serve their state and nation. Homer enlisted in the Na tional Guard on January 28, 1954, following his brother, Joseph, into the National Guard. Homer is a member of the com munications section. He left yesterday to attend the com munications school at Ft. Sill, Okla., for 15 weeks, taking ad vantage of the educational op portunities available in the Na tional Guard. Homer is married to the for mer Miss Gladys Walker, and says the pay he receives from the National Guard helps in meeting the living expenses of a family. Mrs. Ashley Murphy, Ronald and Milton, have gone with them to West Virginia to visit his wife’s parents. Mrs. Bill Pruitt of Maxton and Clyde Parrish of Bath, S. C., bro ther-in-law and sister of Mrs. Howard Beck visited her Friday. The Becks spent the weekend in Maxton. Mrs. H. T. Williams, sis ter of Mrs. Beck, returned with them to remain until today. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beck and Wanda went to Statesville this weekend. Mrs. Beck and Wanda will remain for a visit. Mrs. Wilton Gay fractured a small bone at the base of her spine in a fall Friday. Mrs. S. W. Liggins fell Friday at her home and broke her hip. She is in Rex Hospital, Room 313. Miss Linda Newton of Apex will spend a few days with the F. E. Bunns this - eek before return ing to Lumberton. Mrs. Merritt Massey, Mrs. Riggs bee Massey, and Miss Beth Massey spent Monday in Creedmoor. Mrs. Judd Robertson, Mrs. Bar rie Davis and children visited Miss Jean Robertson at Carolina Satur day. Mrs. V. P. Scroggin of Tampa, Fla., returned home Sunday after a week’s visit with her sister, Mrs. W. A. Allman. Miss Patsy Allman returned home with her for a vis it of a month. Mrs. Bobby Talley came Thurs day from her home in Durham to visit Miss Laura James Sexton. On Friday and Saturday they visited friends in Washington. Mr. Talley came Saturday for the weekend. Tuesday, May 31, 1955 Willie Griswold is confined to his bed with high blood pressure. Mrs. Lou Wheless is in Mary Elizabeth Hospital for observation and treatment. Mrs. Flowers Entertains Mrs. S. G. Flowers entertained at three tables of bridge at her at tractive home on Sycamore Street Wednesday afternoon. The entire house was decorated in lovely roses and regal lilies. After three progressions Mrs. B. H. Johnson was presented a lovely arrangement of liles for high score. Delicious refreshments were serv ed to the following members and guests: Mesdames J. F. Coltrane, M. B. Chamblee, E. C. Daniel, John Horton, A. R. House, John Kemp, E. H. Moser, C. V. Whitley, W. C. Campen, B. H. Johnson, A. S. Hinton, and George Morgan. Miss Sherron Honored Miss Katherine Sherron, who will become the bride of Gene Hester, June 4, was compliment ed at a coke party given by Miss Rebecca Nowell and Mrs. Cecil Whitley in the home of Miss Now ell, Saturday afternoon. The dining table was covered with a lace cloth, centered with an arrangement of pastel flowers. Bridal cakes, mints, nuts, and cokes were served. The honoree was presented a corsage of white carnations and a gift of china. The guests included the bride elect and her mother, Mrs. W. T. Sherron, Mrs. William Hester, Mrs. Mack Hester, Mrs. J. R.
