Rhodes We had 143 present last Sun day at Sunday School. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Holmes, formerly of the Carolina Pines Baptist Church, who joined our church Sunday. Flowers were put in the sanctu ary by Mrs. Lorna Ferrell Sunday. Rev. C. C. Wheeler spoke on the Anti-Christ Sunday. Some of us had never heard it. Our sympathy is extended to the Roger Bunn family in the death of their mother. Mrs. Edgar Liles put flowers in The Zebulon Record the church May 22. The Vacation Bible School date is June 6-17 from 2:00-5:00 p. m. for children from three through 16 years of age. We need several more workers. If you can help let the pastor know today. The Philathea Class will meet with ,Mrs. Martha Eddins with Miss ;Lois Eddins as co-hostess tonight. Bring your Heck Jones offering with you Wednesday to prayer service at 8:00. The Baraca Class will give the Philathea Class a chicken barbecue supper in the grove at Charlie Boy Pace’s Saturday, June 4, at 6:00. The ladies are asked to bring tea, potato salad or pies or cake. Mr. Herman Eddins is confined to his bed again. Mrs. Clarence Hinton who lived in Wakefield so long is a patient at Wake County Sanatorium. Mr. Joe Jones of Angier, step son of Mrs. Helen P. Jones, is very sick at his home. Mr. Vernon Mitchell is not get ting on so well. Mr. Edd Eason is in Rex Hospit al. Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Sampson and daughter of Wallace visited the W. H. Hoods and the Walter Todds and Mrs. Vera Rhodes Sunday. Mrs. Vera Rhodes visited Mrs. Haywood Weathers at Knightdale, Mrs. Maggie King of Raleigh, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Butler Fri day p. m. Vera visited Mrs. Jimmie Al ford, Mrs. Irene Oakley and Mrs. Ollie Strickland Saturday a. m. I visited Mrs. Alice Hood and Mrs. Hettie Vause and Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hood Saturday p. m. Mrs. Vera Rhodes visited the sick at Rex Hospital Tuesday and had supper with Mrs. Early Hood and spent the night with Mrs. Susan Jones, her aunt. We have planned another all day quilting party. And one that wants to help quilt, come on. We will put two quilts in on Wednesday and be ready to start quilting Thursday morning. At the last quilting we had seven in the a. m. and 15 in the p. m. and sold both quilts before they got cold. We are having our club yard cleaned up and still working for our lights. Mrs. Lucile Pearce and Mrs. Troy Watkins visited Mrs. Eleanor Philips recently. Mrs. Ethel Pate is back home. Several of our Zebulon and Wakefield people went to the Wake Forest College commence ment Monday to see Betsy Simpson graduate.. She spent the weekend with her parents, the W. L. Simp sons. Studies of Michigan dairy farms revealed costs can be reduced as much as $55 a cow (or 46 cents per 100 pounds of milk), when excellent, rather than poor-qual ity, hay and pasture are fed.
