Miss Jo Ann Jones is home from Mary Washington College for sum mer vacation. * Mrs. M. F. Jones and children of Washington, D. C., came this morn ing to visit their mothen and grand mother, Mrs. Z. N. Culpepper, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. John G. Terry at tended the graduation of their son, John (Jack) C. Terry, Sunday at State College. Mrs. S. W. Liggins is still a patient at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, where she was taken last week after falling at her home and fracturing her hip. Ferd Davis attended a meeting of the public service committee of the state bar association in Chapel Hill Wednesday. Mr. John Lambert was the over night guest of the Z. J. Robertsons and Miss Jean Robertson on Wed nesday. Thursday morning he left for his home in Cleveland, Ohio, and Miss Robertson accompanied him for a week’s visit. M/Sgt. and Mrs. Billy A. Curlee of Columbia, South Carolina spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. James Debnam. Miss Katherine Sherron Feted At Shower Sat. Miss Katherine Ann Sherron was entertained at a miscellaneous shower given in her honor at the Hephzibah Community Senter on Tuesday evening. The honoree will become the bride of Gene Hester at a four o’clock ceremony Satur day, June 4, in the Hephzibah Bap tist Church of Wendell. Miss Sherron was presented a corsage of white roses. Miss Mary Jon Gerald who will become the bride of Linville Roach August 13, was presented a cor sage of yellow roses and a sil ver bonbon dish. A white linen cloth was used on the table centered by a silver bowl containing pastel flowers, flanked by silver candelabra. Pink ices were served from a silver bever age bowl, along with pink and white bridal cakes, cheese straws and pink and white floral mints. One hundred guests enjoyed the refreshments rnd games given by the following hostesses: Mesdames Dewey Martin, Joe Buchanan, Elizabeth Jeffries, Gaenetta Pearce, Odell Currin, Marshall Strickland, Lois Liles, Russell Taylor, Mary Gay, Kenneth Hin nant, Dorothy Johnson, Pearl Hor ton, Luther Liles, and Miss Annie Laura Wilson.
