Eight Tabernacle News Mrs. Polly Fuller Sunday School attendance last Sunday was 206. Mr. Ray Nowell served at superintendent. Mrs. Ervin Fuller has been ap pointed principal of Vacation Bi ble School. The Roy Nowells expressed their appreciation of sympathy and all deeds of kindness shown them and Mrs. W. I. Greene and the family during the death of Mr. Greene. Mr. Alma Alford, Mr. Johnnie Pearce, Mrs. Leacy Batten, Mr. G. Wj. Hocutt and Mr. Tom Harris are among the sick. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Carpenter and daughters stayed from Thurs day until Saturday with relatives near Wilmington. Mrs. Louise Batten’s legs are healing nicely. Sympathy goes out to the rela tives of Mrs. Luther Taylor in their bereavement. Tommy Perry was a Sunday vis itor of Tony Alford. Little Steve Driver is having trouble with constant mad itch. Mrs. Nathan Batten has gone to Washington, D. C., with the senior class of Corinth this week. Elaine Driver spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. John T. Mocre, near Sanford. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Driver and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John T. Moore near San ford. Elaine returned with them. Tommy Perry injured his big toe when he stumbled over a ce ment block while running. Mrs. W. I. Greene is living with her daughter, Mrs. J. Ray Nowell, since the death of Mr. Greene. The people in the community gathered at the home of Mr. Bert Williams Thursday to help work his crop. He recently broke his foot and is unable to work. Mrs. Claudis Watson and son joined the Sunday School enroll ment last Sunday. Navy Sub Group One, 14th Division at Mare Island, Naval Shipyard, Vallejo, Calif. Miss Phyllis Allen was a Mon day guest of Miss Fay Boyette of Archie Lodge. Mr. Mark Strickland spent last week with Mr. Richard Tippette in Norfolk, Va. The Theorus Johnsons of Glen dale and the C. W. Johnson family of Raleigh were Sunday supper guests of Mrs. Mattie Driver. The Billy Strickland family and the Welton Strickland family of Smithfield were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Mrs. Chester Glover who has been at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cash of Rolesville, since she was released from the hospital, has returned home. Those attending were her relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Vester Temples had their granddaughter of Fay etteville to visit them last week. Mrs. Coy Driver and Miss Janet Faucette attended the graduation exercises at Micro Monday night. Pvt. Harold Hinton is serving with the Ist Calvary Division in Japan. Miss Othell Hinton was a re cent visitor of Mrs. Linwood Mur phy of Wendell who came home from the hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Driver at tended the baccalaureate sermon Sunday night at Glendale School. Miss Myrtie Boykin and friends of Middlesex visited Miss Janie Strickland Sunday afternoon. The Wilbert Bradshaw family of Corin were recent guests of the Waylon Hintons. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lee and son, Jimmy Keith, of Hales Chapel and Mr. and Mrs. Marshall High and Mark of Corinth were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hinton. Joan Kay Faucette spent Mon day with little Norman Driver. Little Allen Johnson of Raleigh was a Sunday night supper guest of Joan Faucette. Lizard Lick News Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ray and Kenneth and Miss Nellie Fuller of Raleigh had supper with the W. E. Fullers and Mrs. John Hinnant last Saturday. Mrs. Pattie Parrish and mother, Mrs. Amos Carter of Zebulon, at tended the funeral of Mrs. Katha leen Taylor at Corinth recently. Mrs. Harvey Hocutt fell out of the door last Saturday and cut her arm which required stitches. She is in bed. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Clark vis ited the W. E. Fullers Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gay and Bill had the Jimmy Woottons of Wendell Sunday for dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fuller, Mrs. John Hinnant and Mrs. H. L. Hin nant visited the M. B. Alfords of Tabernacle Sunday afternoon. The E. B. Parrishes visited them also. Mrs. E. B. Parrish and Mrs. W. E. Fuller spent Thursday and Fri day of last week with the M. B. Alfords of Tabernacle. Mrs. Al ford is ill. ( Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Honeycutt and children of Winston-Salem visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Honeycutt, during the week end. The rain which came to this sec tion Sunday really refreshed the chops. Mr and Mrs. Millard Clarke, Mrs. Russell Taylor, and Mrs. W. E. Fuller visited the Harvey Ho cutts Sunday evening. The Melvin Lovelaces of Wen dell visited Mr. and Mrs. Millard Clark Sunday. Grady Clark of Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind., arrived home Sat urday to visit his parents, the Millard Clarks, a few days before going to Fort Bragg, where he will be stationed. Miss Crettie Parrish spent Sat urday night in Raleigh with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Gay have moved on Cypress Street in Wen dell and are employed in Raleigh. Miss Catherine Ann Sherron, bride-elect of June 4, was honored at a miscellaneous shower at the community center Tuesday night. Sylvia Jean Lamm of Taber nacle had Sunday dinner with Doris Parrish. They visited Betty Puryear of Eagle Rock in the af ternoon. Mrs. Polly Fuller and Mrs. John Hinnant and Mrs. Flora Gay and Bill visited in the Tabernacle sec tion Monday morning. The G. C. Honeycutts visited Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Hinnant Sun day afternoon.
