Friday, October 14, 1955 Lizard Lick News Mrs. Polly Fuller Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinnant are sick. Mrs. E. B. Parrish is improving from an attack of asthma. Mr. Rossie Gay of UNC, Chapel Hill, spent the weekend with his parents, the W. L. Gays. Mrs. Betty Lou Pittman and Mrs. John Hinnant spent the weekend in Virginia. They visited Pvt. J. A. Hinnant at Fort Eustis and Pvt. and Mrs. Russell Frazier at Wil liamsburg, Mrs. Frazier returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ray and Ken neth and Miss Nellie Fuller of Ral eigh visited the W. E. Fullers Sun day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Evans and Deborah of Fuquay visited the Walter Gays Sunday. Miss Pat Upchurch of Greens boro spent Saturday night with Miss Doris Parrish. They attended Mrs. Noah Batchelor’s birthday dinner at the Zebulon Park Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Horton of Knightdale were Saturday night visitors of the H. L. Hinnants. Mr. J. R. Hinnant and Mr. and Mrs. Graham Lane of Wendell vis ited the Harry Hinnants Sunday. Mrs. W. H. Gay is improving from a recent attack of appendi citis. The G. C. Honeycutts and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Honeycutt visited relatives at New Bern Sunday; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Sherron of Hampton, Va., formerly of this section, announce the birth of a son, Frederick, Jr. Mrs. Sherron is the former Alease Roach. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Johnson announce the birth of a 5 lb. 14 oz. son Tuesday, October 10, at Rex Hospital. Mrs. Johnson is the for mer Dorothy Strickland of Knight dale. Mrs. Jim Ray was a visitor of Mrs. Millie Hinnant Tuesday a.m. Mrs. Stancey Gay visited the W. H. Gays and Odis Baileys Monday p.m. Tabernacle News Mrs. Polly Fuller Revival services started Sunday night with a full house. Pastor Dale Davis is conducting the ser vices each evening at 7:30 through Sunday. The W. M. S. will meet Wed nesday night with Mesdames Al ton and Carlton Alford as hostess es. Due to revival services the meeting was postponed. A new class of young married ladies has been organized with Mrs. Ervin Fuller as teacher and Mrs. Jack Bailey as assistant teach er. Fourteen made up the class. Homecoming has been announc ed for the fifth Sunday, October 30. All former members, pastors, and all visitors are welcome and have a special invitation to come. Among the sick are Mr. Ernest Cooke, Mr. Henry Fowler and Miss j Edna Price. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Claffey and Deborah of Garner spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alma Alford. • Attendance Sunday was 223 for Sunday School. The revival services came to a close Sunday morning. A number united with the church and many rededicated their lives to Christ. The W. M. S. met Wednesday night with Mesdames Alton and Carlton Alford, as hostesses. Sympathy goes out to the family of Mrs. Lonza Richardson in their hour of sorrow and bereavement. Homecoming p»eparations are being made for the fifth Sunday in this month. Corinth News Mrs. Thomas Fowler We had 187 attendance at Sun day School Sunday. Preaching will be at 11 o’clock Saturday a.m. and our harvest sale will be held in the afternoon at the church. Mr. and Mrs. Idoris Carter and Clara of Raleigh were Sunday guests of the Otha O’Neals. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Davis were the R. B. Buffa loes and Howard Sealey of Raleigh. Miss Gretchen Hocutt of Wen dell and Mrs. Betty Thompson of Emit were Sunday dinner guests of the Earley Hocutts. Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bunn were the Peyton Bunns of Middlesex, the R. L. Halls of Rocky Cross and the Curtis Hin tons of Emit. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Pulley and Larry visited relatives near Zebu lon Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hocutt of Wendell visited the J. E. Hocutts Monday night. The Lee Hocutts spent the week end in Washington, D. C., with the Bill Cates. Otha Hayes has returned from over seas duty. Visiting the F. L. Wilders dur ing the weekend were the Ben nett Stricklands of Dunn, the Lewis Douglas family and Miss Janie Wilder of Raleigh and the D. J. Smiths and the Charles Wil ders of Durham. Wakefield News Mrs. Vera B. Rhodes We had 133 present Sunday. We had a wonderful revival which closed October 2. Rev. Charles Jolly of Roanoke, Va., brought some great messages. We had several additions to the church. Our baptizing will be next Sunday night at 7:30. The public is invited. ' Rev. Jolly enjoyed his stay here, he said the Nyth Carolina women were wonderful cooks. Rev. Vernon Brooks’ mother came with Mr. Jolly. He is her pastor in Virginia. Rev. C. C. Wheeler was sick part of the week. He is better now. The W. M. U. met with Mrs. Tom Kimbell and Mrs. Mamie Kimbell was cohostess Monday night with 10 present. Mrs. Eloise Eddins gave the program. Mrs. Herman Eddins, president, install ed the officers for the ensuing year. Tony Kimbell has an infected ear and is taking treatments. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln of Long Island, N. Y., visited with us at church Sunday. They were guests of the Brooks family for the weekend. The Lincolns were adopted parents of Mr. Brooks Pearces Happenings Mrs. Ivon Pearce Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Privette visited their son, the Brodie Priv ettes, of Pilot Tuesday. William Gupton expresses sin cere thanks to the B. W. C. for all the nice things done him while he was ill in the hospital and at home. The Russell Pearces attended a picnic dinner at the Zebulon Park Sunday honoring Mrs. Pearce’s mother, Mrs. N. H. Batchelor. All of the 10 children were present. The Zebulon Record Mrs. Doris Currin and children of Clydes Chapel visited the P. D. Stricklands Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Powell of Hampton, Va., spent part of last week with the E. E. Powells. Miss Dorothy Jean Hinton of Raleigh was a weekend guest of the David Hintons. Mr. and Mrs. Newton Hocutt of Durham were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dock Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Raylon Richardson and girls were Sunday guests of the James Smiths at Youngsville Sunday. M. Hood is spending some time in Durham with the Au brey Hoods. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Gay and Alice and Don of Wilson visited Mrs. Alice Hood Sunday. Mrs. Mildred Sadler was a din ner guest of the H. A. Hodges last Sunday. Mrs. Vera Rhodes attended the Westinghouse opening last Friday. I also visited Mrs. H. H. Hood and the A. R. Richardsons while in % Raleigh. Miss Hazel Bolton has been out a few days with an infected tooth. Miss Ester Martin, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. C. C. Wheeler vis ited them over the weekend. The new church foundation is progressing slowly. Mrs. J. T. Johnson and boys of Raleigh spent Sunday with her parents, the F. O. Pearces. Mr. L. D Perry is ill in Frank lin Memorial Hospital, Louisburg, with a heart attack. Misses Emma Lou Perry and Joan Baker had dinner with their aunt, Mrs. C. L. Perry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Pearce were Sunday dinner guests of their son, the Wayne Pearces, of Clayton. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pearce had dinner with her parents, the Wil liam Honeycutts Sunday. U. met at the Hephzi bah Baptist Church Tuesday eve ning at 7:00 p.m. The new frigidaire for the com munity center was made possible by donations from the Grange, Home Demonstration Club, Phil athea, Baraca, Couples, Baker Bi ble, Perry Bible and Faithful Workers Classes, and Miss Pattie Lee. B. Carters Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Eureka Joyner of Raleigh is spending a few days with the J. B. Carters this week. Mr. D. L. Askew is a patient in a hospital. Miss Mary Winston is recuper ating from a recent tonsil opera tion. Mrs. M. B. Perry is ill. Mrs. W. T. Sherron is visiting her son, the Frederick Sherrons, in Hampton, Va.
