Bannister-Temple Speak Vows In a formal ceremony Sunday afternoon, July 30, at five o’clock at the Zebulon Baptist Church, Miss Martha Eason Temple, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Gard ner Temple of Zebulon, became the bride of Roily Bannister, Jr., son of Mrs. Roily Bannister, Sr., of Clinton, S. C., and the late Mr. Bannister. Dr. George Griffin of Wake Forest College and former pastor -, , r of the bride officiated at the dou ble ring ceremony. Music was presented by Charles Horton, or ganist, and Miss Juh'a Ribet of Raleigh, soloist, and J. A. Spell, Jr., of Raleigh, violinist. Miss Ribet sang “I Love Thee” and ‘Lord, Who at Canna’s Wedding Feast.” Mr. Spell played a sonata from Bach and Schubert’s “Ave Maria.” The vows were said before an TO THE PEOPLE THAT I HAVE HAULED AND SOLD TOBACCO FOR In Nash, Wake, & Franklin Counties, This is to let them know I will be connected with The Smith Warehouse at Whiteville, N. The Smith Warehouse has over 80,000 feet of floor space and has as good accommodation as there is on any belt or any state. Pews along the aisle were marked with lighted tapers set in white arrangements tied with satin bows. ’ Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a formal gown of Italian silk and alencon lace, featuring a sabrina neckline of lace reembroidered with pearls and irridescents, basque bodice, and long sleeves tapered to points over the hands. Her bouffant skirt had a tunic overskirt bordered in re embroidered lace and ended in a chapel train. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was attached to a- coronet of imported orange blos soms. She carried a cascade bou auet of white roses. Matron of honor was Mrs. W. E. Dillon of Albemarle. Maid of honor was Miss Shirley Snyder of Raleigh. They wore full-length gowns of pink silk organza ac cented v:th back bows and carried bouquets of pink roses. They wore matching pink picture hats. The bridegroom’s brother, Charles Bannister of Clinton, S. C., was best man. Ushers were Wallace Gardner Temple, Jr., brother of the bride; Yono Mork, Julian Barnes, Gerald Coates. Lawrence Medlin and Jack West brook, all of Raleigh. The bride’s mother was gowned in a full-length sheath of peony pink chiffon with matching acces sories and a corsage of white roses. The mother of the bridegroom wore a full-length blue sheath of embroidered silk organza over taf feta with matching accessories and a corsage of white roses. The bride was graduated from Campbell Junior College and At lantic Christian College, where she was a member of Phi Sigma Tau Sorority. She teaches physical education at the State School for the Blind in Raleigh. The bridegroom is a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S, C., where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He is employed as credit manager with American Discount Company in Raleigh. After a wedding trip to the coast the couple will reside at 1616 Harper Road, Raleigh. Reception Immediately following the cere mony the parents of the bride en tertained at a reception. The home was thrown ensuite for the occasion and beautifully decorated with floral arrangements. Greeting the guests on the ter race were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Temple. On the enclosed porch the guests met Mr. and Mrs. Foster Finch, who directed to the regis ter presided over by Mr. and Mrs. Alton Temple. Mr. and Mrs.'Fred Smith introduced the guests to the receiving line, composed of the wedding party. Mrs. L. R. Temple, grandmother of the bride, directed to the dining room. Misses Marritta and Audrey Hoggard, aunts of the bride, pre sided at the punch bowl, assisted by Mrs. R. H. Brantley, Mrs. Charles Cimmero, Mrs. Charles Bannister, and Misses Sandra and Mary Russell Temple. Refreshments of strawberry punch, ribbon sandwiches, chicken salad puffs, individual bridal cakes, nuts and mints were served from a silver appointed table covered with a pink swiss embroidered cloth and centered with a five branched silver candelabra filled with roses, mums, snapdragons and greenery and lighted tapers. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Geddie di rected to the gift room, presided over by Mrs. Wallace Chamblee and Mrs. B. H. Johnson. Goodbyes were said to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Temple. More than 200 guests registered. After-Rehearsal Party The Woman’s Club was the scene of an after-rehearsal party last Saturday night following the Ban nister-Temple wedding rehearsal. Hostesses were Miss Marritta Hog gard and Miss Audrey Hoggard, aunts of Miss Martha Temple, who married Roily Bannister, Jr., Sun day at Zlebulon Baptist Church. ’ A green and white color scheme was used in decorations and re freshments. Pnryear Mrs. Pearl Wood of Raleigh spent Sunday with her parents, the J. B. Carters. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Faucette and Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Whitaker spent Sunday with Mrs. Estelle Whitaker of Princeton. Mr. and Mrs. Coy Blinson, Jr., and children spent the weekend with the E. V. Rhodes. Sunday visitors were the John Perrys of Wendell, the Oliver Horton family of Raleigh, the J. P. Crafts of Mar tin’s Center and Drexel Rhodes and son Tony of Hopkins Cross Roads. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Turner and linist, provided piano selections during the evening. Refreshments were punch, as sorted cream cheese sandwiches, bridal cakes, nuts, and mints. son Tim of California, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Oris Horton and the J. L. Andersons for several weeks. Mrs. May Marshall will undergo a major operation at a Greensboro hospital. She is a sister of Mrs. Oris Horton. Mrs. Clifton Carter visited Mrs. Odis Webster of Garner Sunday afternoon. Visitors of the T. Y. Puryears, Sr., Sunday afternoon were the Carl Puryears, the Maynard Pur years, Ted Cashwell, Mrs. Naomi Carter of Raleigh, the .Hugh Ays cues, T. Y. Puryear, Jr., of Wen dell and Tony Puryear of Mit chell’s Mill. John Starnes will undergo an operation on his foot at Wendell Zebulon Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Thompson and son Don of Raleigh, spent Sunday with their parents, the Kennith Hinnants. Mrs. Charlie Carter and daugh ter, Glenda Fay of Morehead, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Bryan of Garner spent the weekend with Mrs. John Starnes. Dr. S. J.
