When co-owners Bruce Creekmore and Bill Kirby scatched their noggins for the best way to start sales booming at the Star Record Bar in Zebulon, they came up with a dilly of an idea. Record Bar Open For Business Zebulon’s newest business, The Star Record Bar, opened Thursday, April 4, and owner Bruce Creek more says he is “well pleased with the patronage citizens have given the Record Bar.” The music store is located be tween Zebu Ion Furniture Co. and the old Flowers’ 5 & 10 Store. Bill Kirby is co-owner with Creek more. Both men are associated with Radio Station WETC, Wen dell-Zebulon. Recordings offered at Star Rec ord Bar include selections ranging from classical to “kiddie.” Miss Patsy Hales has been em ployed as saleslady. The shop is open each day from 3:30 to 6 and on Saturday from 9 to 9. Raper, presiding minister i of the Zebulon Rural Congrega tion of Jehovah’s Witnesses, an nounced today that Witnesses from Zebulon will be meeting in Reids ville, April 19-21, for a three day training program. The assembly will attract delegates from the 18 congregations comprising North Carolina Circuit No. 2. Commenting on the purpose of circuit assemblies, Raper said the Witnesses (about 989,000) are grouped into 22,166 congregations where they receive 5 hours of classroom study weekly. These congregations are organized into 1,725 circuits with a circuit assembly arranged semi-annually and “the assembly program, proto typing the classroom training at the congregation, is aimed at pre paring effective home mission aries.” Raper remarked that the growth of the Witnesses has been so rapid the attendance is expected to exceed the number present at the 1960 Reidsville assembly even though there are five fewer con gregations in the circuit. The assembly sessions will be gin Friday evening at 7:00 with the discourse “Right Kind of Min isters” by H. A. Cantwell. District Supervisor for the Watchtower Society, Cantwell is feature speak er for the convention and will de liver the keynote address, “Who Will Win the Struggle for World Supremacy”, Sunday at 3 p.m. All meetings of the local Wit nesses will be cancled over the assembly weekend. Marriage Announced The marriage of Miss Ellen Baines and Kirby Williams was solemnized Sunday afternoon* April 7, at Union Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Walter Mayes officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Baines of Route 1, Zebulon; and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Williams, also of Route 1, Zebulon. She is a recent graduate of Mit chell’s Hair Designing Academy in Raleigh and will after return ing from a wedding trip be em ployed at the Elite Beauty Salon in Zebulon.
