The first Gold Medallion house in Archer’s Lodge community will be open for public inspection Sun day, April 28. Belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Bob by Johnson, the 94-foot long ranch style brick veneer home sits on nine-tenths of an acre almost in the heart of the Johnston County area. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom is painted a soft shade of blue and has an adjoining shower bath with blue fixtures and ceramic tile. The other two bed rooms are painted in soft shades of pink and green. The den, which is one of the most attractive rooms in the house, has a crab orchard stone fireplace with a raised hearth, exposed beams, and birch panelling with a natural finish. A cornice runs the entire length of the room over the fireplace. There are lighting fixtures under the cornice over the fireplace. Wagon wheel ceiling lighting fixtures are used in this room. An intercom system connects all the rooms and outside entrances. For year-round comfort the house is heated with radiant ceiling ca ble flameless electric heat and cooled in the summer with flame less electric airconditioning. Mrs. Johnson said she will use Early American furniture in the den, kitchen and living rooms and French Provincial furnishings in the bedrooms. Jesse W. Satterwhite of Knight dale is the contractor and designer of the home. Mrs. Johnson is the former Stel la Bunn of Hopkins Cross Roads community. She is a secretary with Wenco Furniture Co. in Wen dell. Mr. Johnson is associated with Nello Teer in Raleigh. T. F.
