Dr. J. A. Shauers CHIROPRACTOR Maness Bldg. Phone 620 Maid in Attendance for Ladies STUDENTS’ RECITAL Given at Mont Amoeua Seminarv Tues day Evening. Tuesday evening at 8:30, a large and interested audience completely tilled the chapel of Mont Amoeua Sem inary, Mt. Pleasant, to listen to the Commencement Students’ Reeitul. All the nearby towns and surrounding com munities were represented, and all seemed highly appreciation of the skill and ease with which the differ ent numbers were presented. The music pupils of this institution have been peculiarly fortunate, this year, in having the benefit of the tute lage of Miss Mae Evelyn Smith, of Al lentown, Pa., a graduate of Ithaca (X. Y.,) Conservatory of Music, as direct ress, and Mrs. Ethel Cobb Fisher, her able eo-laborer. The classes have been large and much excellent work has l>een accomplished; The opening and closing choruses, by the large chorus class, were well rendered and evidenced careful train ing and responsive work. The waltz and chorus from the opera of "Faust" was harmoniously rendered l»y a quar tette of young ladies: the vocal num bers were given in a graceful and fin ished manner: while the instrumental performances, were played with skill and spirit, especially commendable be ing "The Butterfly,” by Miss Bessie Lee Efird. whose expressions and touch were much remarked upon. Little Miss Jnlin Shirey. after only a few months’ lessons ,played her selection like a veteran, with ease and self possession. Altogether it was a musical treat and quite up to the reputation sustain ed by Mont Amoeua Seminary, which always has had the best music instruct ors and cultivates the highest form of harmony.
