Aslie County Club Met On Thursday The Ashe County Woman's Club held its November meet ing on Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Jim Gambill with Mrs. John Wilkins as joint host ess, at which time fourteen mem bers were present. Following the regular business of the club, Miss Frances Tucker and Mrs. A. B. Hurt gave reports on the Christmas Seal bond sales. Miss Ella Mae Crosby, home agent, gave a very interestinb and instructive demonstration on the making of Christmas dec orations and wreaths from the native evergreens. Cox in Independence, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sells spent Sunday in Galax, Va. Ashe Man Weds Reidsville Girl Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Barbara Ann Ferguson and John D. Gro gan, which was solemnized on Saturday evening, November 20, in Reidsville. The double ring ceremony took place at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. Donald Myers. For her marriage, the bride wore a navy suit with brown ac cessories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Grogan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Ferguson, of Reidsville and is a graduate of the Reynolds high school in Winston-Salem. At present she is employed with the Reidsville Adjustment Bureau. Mr. Grogan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Grogan, of Todd, and is a graduate of Elkland high school. He spent 29 months in the U. S. Navy and was discharg ed with the rating of Fireman First Class. He is now employed with the Southern Bell Tele phone Company in Reidsville, where they plan to make their home. Rev. Luke Spoke To Rotary Club There Will Be No Meeting Of The Club Tonight Due Tu Thanksgiving Rev. J. W. Luke, pastor of the Glendale Springs Presbyterian church, spoke to the Jeffersons Rotary club last Thursday night on Rotary fellowship and what it means to a community. Mr. Luke pointed out to the Ro tarians what fellowship meant to the world, the community and to the individual. He stated that each individual was dependent upon another person, thus there should be closer fellowship in the world today than we have. In illustrating the meaning of fellowship, he used illustrations from the Bible. L. B. Tyson, who had charge of the program, introduced Mr. Luke to the group. Visitors of the club at the meeting were Ar chie Holmes, Sterling, Calif.; Henry Furchas, Winston - Sa lem; Lem Hafer, Newton and Bruce Houck, West Jefferson Dean McMillan, Rotary presi dent, stated that the club would not meet this week due to Thanksgiving Day.
