pied for several years, to a house
in the West end of the village.

evening. The topic for discussion
was “The Light In Latin Ameri
ca." Talks were given by Mrs.
Roy Campbell, Mrs. E. J. Weav
er, Mrs. Roy Walker and Miss
Ruth Weaver.
The devotional was conducted
by Mrs. Roy Walker, using for
the theme. “God, Everything to
Everyone."
Work has been started on the
Methodist church at this place.

Dies In Maryland
News has been received here
of the death of Granville Me- j
Millan, Elkton, Md., who was ac
cidentally killed last week in a
boiler explosion. i
The deceased, who for several
years lived in Ashe county, is a
nephew of Mrs. Vonley McCon
nell, Jefferson. He is the son of
Emory and Jennie McMillan. j
