A military funeral for Roger
Field* Miller of Glendale Sp’gs,
who was killed in action in Ger
many on February 17, 1948, will
be held at the Mash cemetery
near Glendale Springs, on Sun
day, July 17. at 8:00 p. rn.
Rev. Herbert Caldwell and the
Ashe Host of the American Le
gion will conduct the final rites.
Survivors include the mother,
Mrs. Mary Miller: four brothers,
Wesley. Douglas. Robert and Gai
ther Miller; and two sisters, Mrs.
Virginia Dare Rav and Beulah

morning when Wiley Dewitt
Stansberry. Apple Grove, was
fined $100.00 and costs on a charge
of drunken driving. A report of
this conviction was filed with
North Carolina State Highway
Commission.
Olen King, Fleetwood, received
a fine of $25,00 and costs on a
charge of driv.ug without license
and was fe ed $50.00 and costs,
and -u pended sentence of one
year for possession of whiskey.
