Long, who. is book keeper at one of the vWarShoases in Winston Salem ' pent Sunday here with his family. Rock Grove News There was a pleasant day spent at Rock Grove on last Sunday, Oct. 10th. There was present a large crowd and we had a good service and hope it will result in the upbuilding of the Sunday Schools, especially to our school. We had a good prayer service a.tBro.,M. T. Slaughter. It will beat Bro-J. L. Long's on next Saturday night. Chickens are seeing a hard time now on account of the corn shuck ing. I am glad to sa.v the corn is turning out well. The people are getting busy about sowing wheat. I hope they will sow a large crop this time for I don't see how the farmers can grow to bacco at the present prices. I think we all had better sow more wheat and plant more corn and raise more meat. Hustler Buck. Mrs. W, H. B. Newell daughter, Miss Isla left for Jon esboro last week, where they will attend the marriage of their kinswoman, Miss Marie Godfrey. FOUND -Near Hester's Store some weeks ago, one , pair of gloves. Owner applv to J. H Newton, Hurdle Mills, Routefe! and identify same. We enjoyed a call from our friend N r. W. A. Warren of Woodsdale, route 2, last Monday; While tobacco is poor and the prices low Mr. Warren is, cheer ful and says the people down $s way will make it all right; , :;$,v Mr. C. J. Webb of New" York is spending the week here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.' W.' E. Webb. Mr. E. C. Brooks and family of Kenbridge, Va arrived yes terday evening and will spend the week here uttedding the Fair. They made the trip in Mr. Brook's Hupmobile. Fraud Paint. The worst mistake one is likely to make in painting is wrong paint; it is easy to make. We all say "Ours is the best"; and there are 1000 of us, One is best; but a dozen are so near on a level that no-one knows, for sure, that his is the one. The worst paints are worst liars; they know what they are, put-on a bold face, and brazen it out. Their one true argument is low price; but low-price paint is al-1 ways, must be, a fraud; it is made to cheat cheatable people. DEVOE Mr. R. W. M orris suffered slight accident yesterday while riding his motorcycle at the Fair grounds. Anyone wanting fertilizer, get the best at Person Union Ware house. We have some on hand at the right price. T. P. and R. N. Featherstohe.
