Owing to the sickness of one of the speakers, the Senior compet itive contest did not take place Saturday as was intended, but has been postponed indefinitely. In consideration of the fact that it will be ten days or two weeks before the speaking can take place which will give the final speakers a very short time t o put the finishing touches o n their ora tions, and since there are only eight to c o m pe t e for. the six places, would it not be the wisest and best plan to allow all eight to compete at commencement ? The eight will not consume more than one hour and a half, and the visitors certainly w i 1 1 not get "bored" in that time. Last year seven were allowed to speak and the speaking was quite a success. If an S and an I and an O and a U With an X at the end spell Su, And an E and a Y and an E to spell I, Pray what is a speller to do ? Then if also an S and an I and a G And an II B D spell cide, There is nothing much left for a speller to do But to go and commit siouxeyesighed.
