See the Great. Game, Cheer the White and Blue, vnd spend a lJleasani; Thanksgiving-. We are very glad to see a move ment, on foot to run a special train to Richmond on Thanksgiving- day. J Such enterprises asr this always bring about good results, as can be seen from the scores of previous years. When U. N. C. played U. Va. in Atlanta in '92, we had the crowd ; with us and won. Since that time Va. has had the crowd, in Richmond, in consequence of which she has won. It is very evident from this that the crowd plays an -important part in the result of a game,; therefore the Championship of the South this year rests in a great measure with the student body of U. N. C. We do not believe that the stu dent body will fail us in this. The fare,, is very low,: only $5.50 the round trip, if a, sufficient number (100) will g-o. In order to get these low rates the work : must be done now. Therefore find out immedi ately if yon can go and report to the managers, " Messrs. . Gregory and Bellamy,, Remember that every in dividual helps to swell the number. .. Those who take this trip will miss no college duties, as the train will return to Chapel Hill 8 o'clock Friday morning. r Harvard-Princeton. Harvard and Princeton have at last arranged a foot-ball ame to be played at Princeton on Nov. 2; also arrange ments have been maVie for another game to be played next year at Cam bridge. ' The Nczvs has the following- state ment in regard to the rules an! ar rangements: Tii the meeting between the two captains there was no disagree ment as regards eligibility or rules. .Both made liberal concessions, Princeton following the Harvard-Pennsylvania-Cornell code of rules with but few ' exceptions. The most important field rule, perhaps, the one in regard to a free catch. The man who catches the ball must not be ap proached by any one nearer than five yards at the time of the catch, and if he "traps" the ball as in foot-ball he may run ' with it. The officials will be the same prescribed by Harvard rules, the umpire and referee to ap proved by graduate advisers "of both colleges. ,. IN MEMORIAM. University ok N. C.
