On Wednesday afternoon an ex citing jrame of football was played between the adherents of the yellow and white metals, 'lhe varsuy was in Richmond, the Scrubs were in Wilmington and there was noth in.o- to hinder the evening- s tun. The jrame was called and the Goldbugs kicked oft. Atter a lono- series of rushes and fumbks, fouls and offsides the Silverites rush the ball within a few "feet of a touchdown when time is called tor the first half. The timekeeper is chased all over the field and cries of "rotten" re- uni-mrl frnm all sides. In the second halt the bilverites have better luck and Pinnix scores a touchdown. Here Messrs. femitn and Allen, the umpire and reteree respectively, come in for their share of abuse and things really assume a threatening appearance. Peace and order-are at last restored and tne o-ame ends without further mci dent The Silverites declare tnat they can play ball if they can t count votes and the Goldbugs on the otner hancf cry fraud and demand another game. .
