will entertain the Ginghouls and
their lady friends.
Easter Monday the Chapel Hill
Baseball team colored) defeated the
Durham Blackballs by a score of
30 to 27. The game was played
out near the depot. ;
Prof. K. P. Harrington delivered
a lecture in Laurinburg last Friday
night. His subject "A 'Day in
Rome" was elegantly handled. He
spoke in Field's Hall. .
The new catalogues, which are to
be printed by Stewart Bros, of
Winston, have not come to hand as
yet, but will arrive early next week.
The catalogue this year will be the
best ever issued from the Universi
ty, containing the most complete
information ever printed regarding
the University.
Dr. John Manning leaves in a few
days for Chase City, Va. for a need
ed rest. He is suffering from the
effect of a slight stroke of paralysis
which happened on Wednesday af
' ternoon. It is understood that
Judge Shepherd will occupy the
Chair of the Law Department for
remainder of the session.

Dr. Manning's Illness.
Wednesday night the entire college
was shocked by the news that Dr.
Manning had received a stroke of
facial paralysis. We are glad to be
able to state that Dr. Manning has
greatly improved and that he has
complete use of his voice. The
stroke is by no means as serious as
was at first feared, having had very
slight effect. '

Mandolin Clubs were magnificently
entertained during their stay l n
Winston-Salem.
The hospitality shown those mem
bers of the University in the city
during the Easter holidays is thor
oughly appreciated and remembered
by all. T h e reception tendered
them by the Twin City Club on
Monday night was the swellest af-
fajr of the season.
