The Journal of School Geography for November, contains the first of a series of studies in the physiography of North Carolina by Prof. Collier Arrangements have been made by which the University Magazine and N. C. Journal of Education may be had together for only $1.00 per year V. Commons Hall has supplemented its regular fare with the following extra order: eggs, chicken, oysters, quail-on-toast, cake. Mr. Henry M. London, accompa nied by Messrs. Pfohl and Ander son, will spend Thanksgiving at his home in Pittsboro. Dr. Baskeryille entertained at his home last Thursday evening the members of the 'Varsity foot-ball team. The occasion was an enjoy able one to all present. Mr. Jno. M. Walker who received a painful but not serious injury on the foot ball field last Thursday is spending a few days recuperating at his home in Charlotte. There is some talk of consolidating Harvard University and the Massa chusetts Institute of Technology. If this is effected, it would make one of the largest nniversities in the world, with a total of about 6,000 students. The University of Georgia has start ed a series of class games of base ball. The receipts derived from the games will go to pay off the foot ball debt. Cardinal Gibbons has sanctioned the movement for the establishment of a Catholic University for women at Washington, - Eleven out of twenty-three of the honor men at Harvard last year were also prominent athletes. Virginia Wis able t' score only ten points on Columbian last Thurs day, in a very stubborn contest. Bruce Cotton, 1891-93. is in the Klondike working for the Standard Oil Co. Tappan Adney, 1880-81, artist, hunter, and writer, has been sent to ihe Klondike by Harpers Weekly. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Hampton, of Pittsljoro, spent several days last week at Dr. Mannings.
