Historv and Pol itic?yl Science in the Univer sity is the Social Science Seminary recently instituted by Dr. Ernest P. Bvnuni. This seminary is open to all students of Political and So cial Science and tends tq encourage research work in that line. Ques tions of sociological and economic value are fully discussed, and 'pa pers on these subjects are 'read by the members. The first meeting was held Fri day evening Jan. 14th. Mr. 1-V'D. Gold read a paper upon "Anarch ism, .-its', scientific basis etc." A short history of the different schools of anarchy was given, showing the difference between the Internation al and Individualists,- the basis' of the belief of each, and the relation to Socialism. - At the second meeting, Jan. 21st, Mr. E. K. Graham presented a paper upon "Karl Marx the master Socialist." The life and works of this reformer were reviewed and discussed by Mr. Graham in con nection with the doctrines of the Ricardian and the"other schools of Politital Economy. Mr. P. O. Carver read a paper upon "Pro gress of Socialism in Europe." A full discussion of the subject at hand was . made and statistics showing the relative strength of Socialism were offered. . The work,-of the Seminary .is encouraging and it is hoped that more will join. One of the advantages of this course is that it counts in work for a degree!
