To the Tar Heel; Your last letter was received some days ago and enjoyed much The plan we have inaugurated seems to give much satisfaction at this end of the line and trust it is as agreeable to you. Since our last letter to you, we have had our annual 22nd of Feb ruarv contest in oratory between , the two Literary Societies to de cide who shall represent Vander- bilt in the Southern Intercollegiate Oratorical Contest. Mr. D, K Lambeth of the Delta Kappa Epsi- ion fraternity, representing the Philosophic Literary Society was chosen to be the rep.esentative. After the Oratorical Contest, there was a promenade, moistened with fwppe. It was quite a success and we expect to have large crowds from this on at our public exercises. Baseball practice has begun in I lead earnest and our prospects for good team are most flattering. There are several applicants for every place on the team and we will be strong at every point. There was some doubt as to the Pitcher but several men are show- up well for this place.
