This year the authorities have tried to ar range a program that will attract the whole student body. We hope it will; there are numerous inter esting events and speakers, and something to suit everyone s taste. But the most interesting fea ture of Commencement, the big gest thing you will get out of stay ing here, the overwhelming rea son that makes it worth while, is not to be found in any formal meeting or on anjT program. What makes Commencement is the Alumni. Stay to Commence ment and you will see these sons of the University come swarming back, score by score, for their class reunions, aggressive, enthu siastic, fired with love for the Mother, eager for opportunity to ' 1 J i serve. You who think that a ' nine month's stay in Chapel Hill I will make you acquainted with I the University of North Carolina are vastly mistaken. The Uni- versity extends everywhere, and' she has no worthier temple than I the hearts ot her sons. Stay to Commencement and see the Alum- ' ni, and you will catch the true University spirit, you will realize the role she plays in the state, you will feel yourself growing 1 -it" .. i - i larger anu uigger ana nooier. Are Football men so easily daunted? rf they break before the work- now, what will they do next fall? Let's have something doing in the football line. iwpn&TAWT nrrrmiuc i him vntnii LLLiiiviii). Within the next two weeks elections will come up for nearly all the important; offices in the gift of the student body, 1 Class officers, Athletic Association offi cers, basebal basketball, and track managers and assistants, Tar Heel, Magazine.and Yackety Yack editors all will be decided before May 19 when exams begin. The Tar Heel calls attention to these elections in the hope that the student body will reflect seri ously upon them. Too often in the past Universily affairs have , . ,. , been mismanaged as a result of over.hasty election. Every one of these offices tieraands some sort of ability; some of the men uere have the needed ability and some have not This stuient )odj must decide which is which, and the decision cannot be made on the spur of the moment.
