Phi General Assembly :) Busy Revising Constitution The Constitutional , Committee of the Phi General Assembly continued its report on Saturday night, March the sixth, and the progress was much greater than that of the preceding Saturday night. The chairman of the committee that has been revising the Assembly's constitution for the past four months, read articles four to supply, and they were adopted by the House. Few of the articles required much discussion, and there was little opposition to any. Some, however, were referred back to the committee for a further report on next Saturday night. The constitution was suspended so as to have a regular meeting of the Assembly on next Saturday night in order to hold the inter-society Fresh Soph debate. It was thought best to hold this debate this quarter so as not to conflict with any of the con tests next quarter. Mr; Grant reported that Mr. Bob bitt - had won second place in the Southern Oratorical Contest held in Lexington, ' Ky., last week, and the Assembly gave him a rising vote oi thanks for his excellent work. Also a committee was appointed to draw up resolutions for the president of the Di Society and for Mr. Bobbitt ex pressing the appreciation of the Phi Assembly for his work. The following officers were elected for next term: T. S. Kittrell, Hender son, speaker; D. L. Grant, Wilming ton, speaker pro-tern; W. A. Gardner, Wilson, sergeant-at-arms; A. M. Scarboro, Kinston, reading clerk; A. L. Purrington, Scotland Neck, report ing clerk. On the Ways and Mens Committee the following men were elected: H. C. Harris, chairman; C. L. G. Ashby and Bryce Little. University Geology Club Gives Feed The members of the Geology Club enjoyed an elaborate feed on Friday night, March 5th, in the electrical en gineering room of the . Alumni base ment. Around the tables, arranged in the form of a "T," the members of the club partook of such a feed as has never been given in the place. After the first course of grapefruit Professor Prouty told the club of the last meeting of the Geological Soci ety of America in New York, when the members ate troasted dinosaur flesh for supper. He also gave rem iniscences of geological research par ties in which he had been. Between the second course of sand wiches and pickles and the third of chocolate and cakes, the chairman, Jeff Bynum, called on members of the club for short talks. Most of the members gave brief but interesting talks on some line of geological work. This was the second feed that the club has given this year. The statement was made in good faith, upon what was considered to be absolutely reliable authority, and without intention of doing any injustice or misrepresenting the case in any way. But according to the university physician and the manage ment of Swain Hall, the mixing of the dishes is forbidden and is not now done, although it may have occurred at times in the past 'due to the stress of urgent circumstances. In view, of this the original reference was based on misinformation and as a result has probably led to undue apprehen sion. Realizing the gravity of a sit uation involving the health of the students, the writer hastens to cor rect the error in order that no false impressions may be left upon the mind of any reader. C. T. Boyd. LOCAL BRIEFS Dr. Edwin Greenlaw was initiated into the Sigma Chi fraternity, Satur day night, February 28th. T. S. The campaign for the Armenian Relief Fund is drawing near its close. Mr. J. S. Holmes, chairman of the campaign in this part of Orange County, reports that so far $401 have been raised, while Mrs. , Strudwick, who has charge of the other part of the county, reports a total of $526. This falls a little short of the quota of the county, which amounts to $1,020, or sixty dollars each for 17 orphans. But with the extension of the campaign through this week, it is hoped that the quota will be filled out and can be sent in to headquar ters at Raleigh at the end of the week.
