SIXTEEN CLASSES BEING CONDUCTED Extension Division Is Now Op erating Classes Through out the State The University Extension Division is now operating sixteen extension classes throughout the State taught by regular members of the faculty. Three hundred and eighty-one stu dents are enrolled. Classes are held in the following cities: Raleigh, Ox ford, Sanford, Greensboro, High Point, Lexington, Reidsville, Durham, sansDury; Oot J, - aaoinn.i, Shelby. A minimum of fifteen students are required before a class is organized. Each class mc?'cs once a week, or twice ' a week," and lasts sixtetn weeks. When all University require ments are met, credit for extension classes is given the same as for resi dence work. . , . . Commenting upon this and related phases of the University's Extension activity, the Durham HERALD speaks as follows: "Hundreds of men and women in all walks of life throughout the State are today using the services of -the University for better fitting them selves for their chosen work. A ' whole book could be written telling of the service the University is ren dering the people of the State out side of its regular academic instruction.- , - . "Those thingsfi as we , see it, make the University something more than an educational institution where boys , and girls may earn a B. A., Ml A., or some, other of the customary degrees conferred by universities and col leges. If it didn't confer a single ' degree, but carried on the great work it is now doing out in the State, it would more than justify its exist ence and cost to the people."
