He is none oth er than John Harvey, Jr. who hails from Lexington, Kentucky. Harvey's specialty is the 50 yard freestyle sprint, but he is also proficient in the 100 yard distance. Last Saturday in the AAU's he won the 50-meter freestyle of the junior division in the promising time of 28.2 sec onds, while in the Duke meet he finished a close second to Mike Morrow when the latter shaved two seconds off the conference record. As a matter of fact, Harvey was leading Morrow for the greater part of the distance and it was only in the last width that Morrow overhauled him and edged him out. A pre-med student, Harvey has always been interested in swimming and participated in the snort while at summer camps. In the army he was an air forces cadet, spending two years in the States. During his cadet college training at Mon tana State University, he broke the pool record there for the fortv-meter freestyle, dropping the time in that event to 19.5 seconds.
