Maryon Saunders, secretary of the Alumni Association, is pub lished ten times a year and car ries feature articles, several pages of news and pictures of in dividual alumni, . campus and sports news. SOUND AND FURY (Continued from first page) private manner in which Stover Dunnagan sang it. Better Skits Named Best skits were, "If Men Talk ed as Women Do," very well acted, by the Messrs. Kistler, Stuart, Sprintz and Minnix, and "Harry's," a rather amorphous affair liberally strewn with the only remarks that ever seem to get a laugh in Chapel Hill. Skits which nosedived were "Experimental Play 9862 and one-half" (don't know how to make fractions on a typewriter) , "Weakly Mudfoot," both of which had a few good moments, and appropriately, "Crash" which built up to a last line cli max which it didn't have. Even this had a couple of good per f ormances by Bill Miller and Jay Franklin, so it wasn t a com plete loss. The Varga chorus was both more attractive and more uni form than the regular one, which, like a gang of good demo crats found that individuality of tempo and step were sine qua non to a good chorus. Prize winning skit was "Up PoDDed Willy." but the cham pagne was a little flat anyway. Sound and Fury provided a good two hours and was at least an aDeritif to future feasts. Here's hoping . Merchandisers Here Mrs. Henderson of the Em ployment Office and Mrs. Owen of the Training Department of Rich's department store will be on the campus Tuesday, March 12, to interview men and women of the senior class who are inter ested in merchandising. Anyone interested in an interview with these representatives of Rich's, Incorporated, ' of Atlanta, Geor gia, please see Miss Kathryn G. Cook, 209 South Building. "Well, I gues I might as well put the motion before the house," thought the chorus girl as she danced out on to the stage. The council also has selected a slate of nominees for all positions to be filled which slate will be supplemented by nominations from the floor. ' Speaker Smith has issued the following statement concerning attendance: "According to our constitution, all members who do not attend an executive ses sion and all members who do not have their dues paid in full at that time are automatically dropped from the roll. This rule will be strictly adhered to. Any person not having an adequate excuse will be stricken from the roll." LIFE ( Continued from page tvto) was crowned emperor several months later in either Sept. or Nov. of 1789 or 1879, we forget which. It really makes little dif ference, however, since our point is clear : we too have been called ; we too wished to continue . this life of blissful leisure; but we too feel a tingle in our blood, a throbbing in our throat, a pound ing in our temples (Sounds like flue, doesn't it?) whenever they strike up some of those stirring war songs, such as "Hubba Hubba Hubba," to mention only one. And so we have accepted this challenge, we have come back, we have returned! j tz4 You'll be the spirit of Spring in a gay, lightweight svrina suit from The College Shop. T BE RUSSIA (Continued from page two) potential harm: it may infect every aspect of American action and policy unless we learn to look at the world from a composite perspective and turn a jaundiced eye on American and British, as well as Russian policies. If war comes, it will be a tragic farce. It will not be caused by differences of interest of an in compatible nature, but caused by stupidity of leadership and a willingness of the people to be led into suspicion, and war, be cause' they won t apply under standing to facts, "obvious" and otherwise. I personally feel the need for one clear voice to say, "let's end this nonsense, snap out of a mental and moral lethargy." If this voice was stilled on April 12th, then the solution must come from the people a change in attitude adapted to the think ing needs of an atomic age. The alternative is painfully obvious to relatively few. REGISTRATION (Continued from first page) inations, which must be taken before a student can register.
