be the most important dual meet
of the year for the Tar Heels.
Duke will be rated about a 15

basis of previous performances
this year. The Blue Devils have
recorded wins over South Caro
lina and Virginia, with their
lone loss occurring at the hands
of a powerful Navy team.

up more points in all events, es
pecially in the field events, by de

squad this week, with the empha
sis on teamwork rather than on
individual performances.
In the hurdles, Coach Dale
Ranson has three men coming
along to back up Chunk Sim

winner of three second places
and one third in the previous
meets, Hunter Heggie and Don
Mitchell.

triumph.
Already defeated once this
week and blanked with two hits
last month by the Wolfpack, the

hand the Big Four leaders their

while racking up their own sec

league win was a 4-2 decision
over Duke fashioned by Monk

Coleman to Hurl
Hamp Coleman is slated to
take the firing line against the
heavy-hitting Wolfpack. The
Red Springs freshman's last
mound chore was against Wake
Forest when faulty fielding and
insufficient hitting sent him
down to his second defeat. Op
posing Coleman on the mound
will be Ernie Johnson, who hurl

Tar Heels last month.
The Tar Heels will drop into
a last-place tie with Wake For

noon. The light-hitting locals will
probably start the same team
that bowed to State Monday.
