After holding the case open, the court found there was no law ful way to reduce the fine and the case was closed. Walt Stuart was elected chairman, Ben Perl mutter, vice-chairman, Gene Wilkins, secretary, and Gay Morenus, permanent program chairman. . .. CRIL will start a vigorous overseas relief drive May 12. This drive will include clothing, canned foods, and money con tributions. Boxes .for clothing will be located at the "Y" and at Lenoir Hall. Those for canned foods will be placed in the va rious grocery stores throughout the town. The money contribu tion boxes will be located in many adyantageious points around the campus and in town. She Deserves Only (aroiina Sport Shop Herman to Present Band At University Winning Contest Woody Herman, leader of the "band that plays the blues," is sponsoring a nation-wide "Win A Band" contest. As a first prize, Herman is offering the use of his sterling orchestra to the col lege of the winning contestant. "The Herd," as Herman's group is known in swing circles, would be flown directly to the campus in a 58 passenger PCA Capito liner, to play free of charge for an end of the semester dance or a big party for the entire uni versity. In addition, the winner would receive a self-charging portable radio plus a thousand dollars in cash.
