New Clubhouse for Veterans
To Be Completed by Friday
Rebuilt Pre-Flight Wrestling Pavilion
Will Be Twice Larger than Old Location
Completion of the new University Veterans , clubhouse back of
Lenoir dining hall is set for Friday of this week provided the con
tractor can secure needed materials as he expects.
Completely remodeled from the old'P"
Navy Pre-Flight wrestling pavilion,
the new
building will have nearly
twice the floor space of the old club,
and a floor constructed of asphalt tile
for better dancing.
Porch around Entire Building
In addition the building will con
tain lounges, cloak room, kitchen, of
fice for the veterans' association, and
a modern spacious sandwich bar.
Lighting will come from 'dimmable'
wall lamps, and a porch will circle
the building to accommodate tables
and chairs in summer. Increased
window space will improve the outside
appearance of the club.
Open from noon to midnight week
days and from six o'clock to midnight
on Sundays, the club is intended to be
a dating and ' dancing center for all
University veterans. Use of the club
during afternoons will be offered as
a clubhouse or nursery for veterans'
wives.
Formal Opening Soon
Formal opening will take place soon
after completion. The club will then
become the site of weekly open-house
parties sponsored bv UVA in honor
of co-ed dormitories and sororities
Pending opening however, the first
veteran open-house will be held Wed
nesday in the Naval armory honoring
Kenan and McIver dorms.

To Meet Tuesday
There will be a meeting of the Gra
ham Memorial board of directors on
Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the
Grail room of the student union. The
meeting scheduled for Friday was ad
journed, due to lack of a quorum.

Convene Tomorrow
The Carolina Conservative club will
hold its first open meeting Monday
night at 8 o'clock in Gerrard hall
instead of Sunday night at was in

Kattsoff, professor of philosophy will
speak on "The Function of Conservatism."
