One of the fraternity's favorite tales about Phi revolves around the Carolina-Tennessee game of 1947, ' played in Knoxville. He went on the trip to Tennessee with a few of "the boys," pre sented himself at the Vol Phi Gam house and introduced him self as "a Phi Gam from Caro lina." Immediately he began sending Vol pledges on errands. At game time, the story goes, Phi walked through the stadium gate im portantly saying that h had "three boys on that field to take care of: Mr. Wardle, Mr. Rizzo and Mr. Fowle." The most fitting tribute to' the steadfast friend and loyal ser vant of so many Phi Gamma Deltas through the years could only be the one his "boys" have paid Albert "Phi" Reeves: He is the Phi Gamestof them all. -Skeleton- (Continued from page 1 ) with a pick to make sure there was nothing in it." The student body might also get the benefit of some expanded services, Ha user said, "if there is enough money left after the Leg islature corrects past budgeting mistakes." " The Jones referendum measure was vigorously defended yester day by the SP floor leader. "If a block fee raise is neces sary," Jones ' stated, - "we are sure the student -body as a whole will know it and vote according ly." Hauser attacked the referen dum, however, as a means of "passing the buck." He backed his stand by quoting a section of the student constitution passed by a campus-wide vote in the spring of 1946. "The constitution," he com mented, "specifically delegates the Legislature to raise or lower fees as long as they stay within a $20 maximum limit. The stu dents voted to entrust the Legis lature with that job, and some members of that body apparently want to shirk their duty. "There are only three possible reasons why individual members of the Legislature would vote for a referendum," Hauser continued. "Those persons either are merely out to kill the fee raise, which a referendum would do, or they are afraid to act on the matter themselves because .they fear po litical repercussions when elec tion time comes, or some might honestly believe the raise is a matter which should be voted on directly by the students. "The latter simply do not real ize how vitally important the raise is to the student body, and how vital it is that the issue be kept off a political plane, which is where it would go as an elec tion issue if a referndum were called." will probably never be complete ly solved," Jones added, "but I don't think many of the work men who saw them will forget them for quite some time. After all, it isnt every day that vou dig up a couple of skeletons in a nice neighborhood." French Club Meet The French Club will meet to night in Roland Parker lounee 2 of Graham Memorial. Tuesday at 8 o'clock under the The' play was to run for three auspices or the Student Enter tainment Committee, says that her first laughs came quite unin tentionally. At the age of four, little Iva made her stage debut as Cupid, clad in cheesecloth, and flour ishing a bow and arrow from a precarious perch on a seesaw. She was supposed to aim her ar row; at a young couple, of course. However, her balance not being what it is now, the catastrophe that Iva had expected befell her. She toppled from the seesaw and - wept bitterly, not that she was hurt, but that the audience laughed at her. Her pride was wounded, . and she would have days, and little Iva was. deter mined to hold her balance . for the remaining performances. , In spite of the fact that she was plagued with stagefright, Iva did manage to stay on her perch. She was rewarded for her efforts with a bunch of daisies from one on her youthful admirers.
