The morning session will get underway at 9:30 with three members analyzing the following philosophies of history: Commun ist. Prof. Carroll S.Feagins, Guil ford College; Christian," Prof. C. Gregg Singer. Salem College, and bemocratic, Prof. Martha M. Pin gel, East Carolina College. Prof. Warren Ashby of Wom an's College will follow with a summary and comparison. A business session is scheduled for 12 o'clock. ' The afternoon program, begin ning at 2 o'clock, will feature a discussion of the morning's panel to be led by Prof. Shelton Smith, Duke University; Prof. F. E. Rey nolds, Eton College, and Prof. C. Cavarnos, UNC. Dental Dames Choose Head Mrs. Dwight Clark of Asheville was elected president of the Den tal Dame Society as the club's Tuesday night .meeting held in Graham Memorial. Mrs. Clark succeeds Mrs. Hen ry Lineberger of Raleigh. Other officers elected were: Mrs. Glenn Gaither, Statesville, vie?-presi-dent; Mrs. Ludwig Scott, Burling ton, seeretary-tveisurer; and Mrs. L. P. Merqi--on, Jr., Shelby, pub licitv chairman. CAMPUS BRIEFS THERE WILL BE an important meeting of the Carolina Press Club tonight at 7:30 in the Grail Room. Management Institute To Meet Here In July Announcement of a second ses sion of the Management Institute for Young Businessmen to be held ,t the University July 23-27, was made recently by Edgar Snider of High Point, State Jaycee presi dent. The Institute will be directed by Dr. Earl P. Strong of the Business Management Service of the University of Illinois, who conducted the successful 1950 In stitute. Dr. Strong will be assisted by a daily panel of North Carolina ujiness leaders who will advice .hose attending on their particu lar business problems. Phi Upholds Sec. Acheson After Debate The Phi . Assemble overwhelm ingly defeated a bill calling for the ouster of Dean Acheson as Secretary of State, at its regular meeting Tuesday. Rep. Wade Matthews was the lone opposition. Matthews stated that the President of the United States was supposed to "control the foreign policy of the country and not someone such as thepres ont Secretary of State." He stated that "no one with any sense would say that Mr. Acheson was a Com munist, but I could not agree with a man who continued to claim friendship with Algier Hiss." "Acheson represents appease ment," he said. Opponents of the bill" praised the Secretary as a "staunch ad- j vocate of the American way of ilife'' and "anti-communist." . "If Mr. Acheson were Com munist, he would not remain in office under the- present admin istrations" a member 'of the op position said. Next week the Phi is slated to discuss a Bill calling for six day classes at Carolina.
