In the field events Caro lina will have Turk Ogden in the discus, George Verchick, Roscoe Hansen, and Tom McAllister in the pole vault, and Bob Payne, Bill Cornell, and House in the javelin. Two other Tar Heels, no longer on the track, will compete. Bob Seligman will compete in the shot and discus and Jack Moody will go in the high jump. Jim O'leary of Duke, another former confer ence champ who has used up his varsity eligibility, will compete in : the shot and discus. One of the top attractions of the meet will be John Montgom ery, former Southern Cal ace who will compete in the pole vault. Montgomery, now living in Char lotte, has bettered 14 feet. The meet will be the final tune up before the Southern Confer ence - Southeastern Conference Saturday night at State.
