UCLA changed places with Alabama, the Bruins climbing to third place with 3SS points and the Tide slipping to fourth with 354. Points were awarded on a basis of 10 for a first place vote, 9 for second, etc. UCLA trounced Penn State 4911 while Alabama rallied in the final period to defeat Tennessee, 1110.
