The third night. "I lost track
of direction and thought the
basement studio was on the
seventh floor and that it was
on the other side of the hall.
While he was broadcasting
over two hundred students
visited the studio to cheer him
on. Others listened to the pro

phone to wish him luck. Signs
reading "Help keep Mike Shan

throughout Granville.
"Mike's marathon appeared
in many ways to bring the

together," according to
Program Director Paul
Kronsburg.
Shannon has had no former
experience as a disc jockey
except for four nights last
semester when he had a WILD

Ritok also announced a ma

proach to orientation next fall.
The program will be conducted
on a more personal and less
formal basis than it has in
the past. r ,
Less emphasis will be placed
on large group meetings and
more on smal group activities.
There will be no mass con
vocations in Carmichael
Auditorium.
Deans Canseler . and
Carmichael will address in
coming students in groups of
limited size.
Ritoi said that the purpose
of the orientation changes is
to cut down on excess, unim
portant, and uninteresting
things which have inhibitted
the effectiveness of the pro
gram in the past.
He said next year's orien
tation program will be directed
towards stimulating interest in
the University rather than
curtailing interest as previous
programs have done.
