FRIDAY
9 p.m.-WHERE THE BOYS ARE is the Friday night
movie. It fancies itself a cut above the beach-party series,
by virtue of stars Yvette Mimieux and George Hamilton.
Notable for the comedy debut of Paula Prentiss, a tall
wacky brunette who has managed to steal virtually everv
show she's appeared in. (11)

The second season of Super
Sunday is starting soon with
six spectaculars.
Whew!
A translation of that
alliterative slogan means simply
that the Carolina , Union's
experiment this fall with
subscription-films on alternate
Sunday nights was successful.
And now it's time for Season
Two.
The program was begun by
the Union Films Committee to
supplement the weekend free
flicks shown in Carroll Hall.

Subscribers to the charter

the final Super Sunday of the
semester.
Tickets for $3 (for all six
films) will be on sale Monday
to the general campus at the
student Union information
desk.
The films in the spring series
are these:
-A MAN AND A WOMAN,
Oscar-winner as Best Foreign
Language Film of 1966, stars
Anouk Aimee and Jean-Louis
Trintignant. The bittersweet
love story will be in the
original French, with
subtitles not the dubbed
version released early last year.
A MAN AND A WOMAN will
begin the season on Sunday,
February 16.
-A THOUSAND CLOWNS
is another perennial campus
favorite. It stars Jason Robards
and Barbara Harris as a wacky
pair of nonconformists who

Favorite Roman
Entertainment. March 16 is the
date for FORUM.
MORGAN! is a comedy
excursion into the avant-garde.
Vanessa Redgrave and David
Warner head the cast of this
completely insane piece, which
has something to do with a
mixed-up man who chases his
ex-wife, bombs his
mother-in-law and occasionally
dresses up like a gorilla to roam
the streets. MORGAN! will be
the March 30 Super Sunday.
-GEORGY GIRL stars
Vanessa's sister Lynn
Redgrave. (If you remember, :
both Lynn and Vanessa were
nominated for 1966
Oscars-for GEORGY GIRL jx
and MORGAN! but Elizabeth S
Taylor won.) Georgy is a j:-:
gawky, homely girl who ::
searches for happiness when
she rarely thinks it's attainable. j
Alan Bates co-stars as Georgy's S

own lover. Don't miss this
superb British comedy on April 8

COMING, THE RUSSIANS 8
ARE COMING is the final film
in the series, to be shown on

becomes grounded on a ::
sandbar off the New England

Union Free Flicks
An Oscar-winning drama
and an uproarious comedy are
on tap this weekend at the
Carolina Union free flicks.
Friday night's flick is TO
KILL A MOCKINGBIRD,
starring Gregory Peck as
Southern lawyer Atticus Finch,
the role that won him a "Best
Actor" Oscar in 1961. The film
is based on the Pulitzer-Prize
novel by Harper Lee.
Telling the story of a Negro
on trial for rape, the story is
constructed through the eyes
of Finch's two children, Scout
and Jem. Their fantasies and
fears are examined with
poignant expertise and the
entire film is an enriching
experience.
On Saturday night, a
change-of-pace occurs with
James Cob urn's recent comedy
DEAD HEAT ON A
MERRY-GO-ROUND. Judith
Crist named this film as
first-runner up to the "10 Best
Films" of 1966.
The film is about Eli Kotch,
master swindler who races
from crime to crime, always
challenging himself to bigger
and better deeds. He uses the
profits only to scheme larger
operations the story of a
criminal who never keeps his
money!
Coburn is foiled by a bevy
of lovely girls, including
newcomer Camilla Sparv (who
won an award for her
performance as Most Promising
Newcomer).
Both films will be shown in
Carroll Hall at 7, 9:30 and
11:30 pjn. on the two nights.
